Chuck Sets Steering Committee For Imo NG-CARES, urges It To  Implement  Report

Ahead of the monitoring visit of the National Coordinator NG-CARES Mr. Abdulkarim Obaje and his team to Imo State, the Hon. Commissioner for Finance and Coordinating Economy Mr Chuck Chuckemeka has charged members of the State Steering Committee to be ready and prepared with the status of implementation of Programme Action Plan report of the state.

The Commissioner who gave the charge in a meeting with members of the committee drawn from Imo State Community and Social Development Agency (CSDA), FADAMA and Cash Transfer Unit advised them to articulate their projects both completed and ongoing because there may be need for site visitation. He equally advised them to prepare their Financial Management Report, Environmental and Social Safeguard Report, their challenges and areas that may need to be improved upon.

Mr Chuckemeka emphasized on the need to approach the monitoring exercise from a patriotic perspective and therefore urged members of the state monitoring and evaluation, cash transfer, environmental and social safeguard platforms to answer questions thrown to them in the interest of the state.

Also contributing a member of the State Steering Committee and Commissioner for Digital Economy and E-Governance Dr. Chimezie Amadi expressed satisfaction with the presentation done by members of the committee and encouraged them to meet up with few remaining areas. He advised them to give smart and direct answers to questions that may come their way.

In his presentation earlier, State Programme Coordinator, Imo State Community and Social Development Agency (CSDA) Mr. Okay Okereafor stated that his agency is actively involved in many communities in the state with many micro projects spread across Isiala Mbano, Ehime Mbano, Oguta and other Local Government Areas of the state.

Dr. Charles Enyia, the State Project Coordinator of FADAMA stated that they have micro projects numbering over 160 and his agency is ready to receive the National Coordinator and his team for the monitoring exercise.

The meeting attracted the presence of State Accountant General Mr. Linus Okafor, the Acting Permanent Secretary Ministry of Finance and Coordinating Economy Mrs. Blessing Egbuka and other members of the committee.
