Baptist Conference: Men’s Missionary Union Holds 2024 Annual Congress In Imo

Men’s Missionary Union (MMU) of First  Baptist  Church has held its Imo Baptist Conference 2024 Annual Congress with the theme: “Wonders  without Numbers”

The ceremony which took place at First Baptist Church, Imerienwe   in Ngor-Okpala LGA of Imo State offered the Union  an opportunity  to honour some people who have  contributed towards the growth of the church.

Speaking during the event , the Conference President, Rev Uzoma Uzoeshi  urged men to use their position to promote peace and unity in Nigeria.

Rev Uzoeshi described men as supper heroes and called on them to take up their responsibilities as men in their various homes.

He stressed the need for them   to  draw closer to God and have faith in Him to enable them encounter breakthroughs from God.

In his address, the Conference MMU Chairman ,Bro Ikenna Joseph Anyanwu said that the Annual Congress offered an opportunity for MMU members to proffer ideas and suggestions that will move the conference forward.

Bro  Anyanwu further noted that the theme for this year’s Annual Congress “Wonders Without Numbers ” will go a long way to bring men to core attribute of God , which defines the old time religion and the early church.

The chairman regretted that the Nigerian economy has suffered a downward trend   because of the implementation policy on subsidy removal which has placed the nation on a bad record.

He welcomed the respected dignitaries and special guests to the annual Congress and pray God to bless them.

Also Speaking, the chairman of Men’s Missionary Union of Imerienwe Baptist Association, Mr Japhet P.C Okereafor welcomed the men to the annual Congress and prayed  God to grant them fruitful deliberations .

Speaking durig the Bible Study,Rev Lucky Okoroafor described the event as an  annual event and expressed confidence that at the end of the programme there will be a great change in the lives of men.

In his Lecture titled: The Autonomy Of the Local (Baptist) Church ,it’s Merit To the growth of Baptist Church (work ) in Igboland Prof. B.C Okoro said that Nigeria Baptist convention exist today as a denomination because of her belief in both Independence and Co-operation.

T.N.J Umunnakwe, Hon Justice Ibrahim Ali, Pastor Mrs, Juliet Ekweigh, Mr Abubakar Bako,Barr Collins Iwuorie , Mrs Ngozi Ikechukwu , Mrs Ego Obijuru, Mrs Process Nwaorgu,Bon Nkwocha.
