Following the splift of the Ministry of Education into Tertiary/Technical and Primary/Secondary school ministries by the state Governor, Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodinma, the new Commissioner of Tertiary and Technical Education, Prof. Victor N. Nwachukwu has assumed office, with a promise to do all within his power to achieve a transformation of the higher institutions in the state in line with 3R mantra of the present administration.
In a brief ceremony at the Ministry of Education on Thursday, June 27, Prof. Johncliff C. Nwadike who now continues as Commissioner for Primary/Secondary education described the appointment of Prof. Nwachukwu as well deserved owing to his track record in education and service delivery.
Earlier before the handover ceremony, Prof. Victor Nwachukwu 1 had held his maiden meeting wiith the staff of his ministry in which he told them of the need for a pradigm shift in thinking and activities so as to achieve the governor’s dream of a robust, competitive education system comparable to others anywhere in the world.
Speaking during the handover ceremony, the permanent secretary, of the Ministry for Primary and Secondary Education, Barr. Chinyere Ibeh urged the staff of the Ministry to be proactive towards their duties as civil servants to enable the new commissioner achieve his vision for the education sector in line with the governor’s 3R mantra.
The Permanent Secretary, Barr. Ibe also pledged the support of the staff of the ministry to the new Commissioner.
