Orluzurumee Youths To Politicians, Stop Heating Up Polity Over 2027 Guber  Polls

…Say: Uzodinma should be encourged  to deliver  campaign promises to Ndi Imo

The Orluzurumee Youth Assembly,OYA, the apex socio-cultural umbrella organization of youths in Orlu zone,Imo state  has taken a swipe at the different groups clandestinely   campaigning for some Orlu leaders who have secretly declared for the 2027 Imo State governorship election to stop heating up the polity.

Among the group mentioned in the release is Orlu Political Consultative Assembly,OPOCA led by Rex Anunobi and Isu Nation Convention led by Dr Batos Nwadike

OYA, in a release signed by the Comrade Thaddeus Emejuru and Comrade Chigozie Aniebu as President and Public Relation Officer (PRO), respectively, expressed concern over the prevailing situation, where the aforementioned are more concerned about promoting their respective governorship candidates instead of asking relevant question about how to address the myriad of problems facing Imo people.

They also expressed dismay that barely six months after Governor Uzodinma, was inaugurated for a second tenure of another four  years, those they referred to as political jobbers have already thrown caution to the wind in their desperation to market their candidates, thereby, unnecessarily heating up the polity.

“Every patriotic and right thinking Imolite should be more concerned about Uzodinma delivering on his campaign promises because it is quite early to start dissipating energy about how to win the next election.

More so, when Imo people are yet to feel the impact of the previous election in terms of the equitable distribution  and/or dispensation of democracy dividends”.

OYA warned the groups supporting what they referred to as political merchandising as enemies of the people, who selfishly place their personal interests above those of the generality of Imolites.

The group urged the Governor, not to be distracted by the antics of political desperados who see electioneering activities as meal tickets.

The Youths added  that, “Orlu people have already made their stand about the Imo Charter of Equity known and will speak elaborately at the right time. The era of a few people gathering in  hotel rooms or other obscure places to decide and make compromising statements on behalf of Orlu people is gone and will never re-occure”.

The release dated June, 19, 2024, reads in part, “as representatives of the vibrant Orlu Youth community, we emphasize the necessity for Governor Hope Uzodinma to remain focused on his duties without distraction in the remaining tenure of his administration. We urge the Governor to utilize this time to drive developmental initiatives within Orlu Zone, address its current poor state of infrastructure that are in dire need of transformation.

Orluzurumee Youth Assembly issues a grave admonition to OPOCA and similar self-serving political entities operating across the state, demanding an immediate cessation of activities that sow seeds of discord and divert attention away from governance.

“The Governor deserves the space and time to carry out his responsibilities effectively, unhindered by premature political machinations”.

It is imperative for all concerned parties to allow Governor Uzodinma the opportunity to fulfill his obligations to the people of Imo State.

Orluzurumee Youth Assembly pledges to engage in constructive dialogues regarding the transition process at the appropriate juncture, in collaboration with key stakeholders in the state.

Conclusively, we implore all political groups and individuals with vested interests to respect the democratic process, exercise patience, and prioritize the well-being of the citizens above all.

The future of Imo State hinges upon collaborative efforts and a commitment to progress, not on premature politicking that threatens to destabilize the socio-political landscape.

Orluzurumee Youth Assembly remains steadfast in its dedication to the welfare of Orlu Youths and the advancement of Orlu Zone as a whole, promoting unity, development, and sustainable growth for generations to come”.
