…Assures leaders on loyalty
Many years since the creation of Awarra/Ikwerede political Ward the people of Ikwerede clan had lost the grip of getting it right to be elected into any of the elective positions including the position of councilorship
Awarra/Ikwerede political ward has tick political heavyweights in APC but Ikwerede has not been remembered from the time of PDP till date.
Therefore, giving them the position of councillorship will give them a sense of belonging and address the isdue of their marginalization.
For that reason, Hon. Anderson Ogueri Izem from Obechi Village in Ikwerede, Awarra/ Ikwerede Ward has decided to throw his hat in the ring to aspire for the position of councilor to represent the ward in the legislative council in the proposed September 21 Imo LGA elections.
Ogueri who is a member of APC in the government of Senator Hope Uzodinma in a meeting with the political leaders of the Awarra /Ikwerede Ward, said he was interested in the position and ready to win for the development of the communities.
He further stated that he has administrative capacity and adher to be principles of honesty, respect, obedience and humidity in all his endeavours.
According to him, “I was born in a military family where discipline is adhered to and cannot do without the protocol means of life.
“I will adhere to the order of my principal and work hard to drag development to the Ward”.
He re-emphasized that he has the capacity to deliver and do what is expected of the people if he is given the mandate to go for the councillorship position..
Addressing the crowd, Hon. Kenneth Ekweme, popularly known as Degree, described Ogueri Anderson Izem as a true democrat who has been asking for the position and never got it, adding that this time around, the present leadership of the area was out to work with him and give him that support to achieve the vision.
“Today, the political ward has seen him capable, qualified and consistent to vie for the position and worthy of being the best man to represent his people”.
Hon. Ken Ekweme, a former Special Adviser to the Governor Hope Uzodinma on Imo House of Assembly Matters, reiterated that so far Ogueri has indicated interested for now that the ward has seen him capable, and will support him.
He also urged others who are interested in the position to come up and make their interest known to the party.
He said Ogueri has paid his dues as long as the councillorship position of the ward was concerned, promising that with the leaders of the ward, he would be delivered.
Mr. Cypril Obiajunwa, former President General of the community, said the party believes in the aspiration of Ogueri whom he said, remained a man with vision and good dreams for his people.
Hon. Chidi Igwe in his contribution, said he saw the aspiration of Ogueri to become the ward councilor as a divine. He praised his anxiety and commitment and comportment to seek for the support of Hon. Ekweme and others for the project.
Mr. Livinus Eshiobi, a political leader in the ward advised Ogueri to maintain his integrity, stating that whatever he wished himself, that he would be.
He tasked him to go out to the people and make sure he canvased for more support from the them.
Hon. Victor Chukwuma the ward party chairman for Awarra/Ikwerede Ward, thanked them for their dedication and ability to be at the meeting to honor the invitation of the party through the aspirant.
Meanwhile Chief London Enyia, the serving President General of Awarra Community, appreciated the people for their support and concern towards Ogueri’s aspiration.
