A newly crowned Nze Na Ozo title holder, Nze Theo Ojiaku has described Ozo as a non-fetish body. Nze Theo Ojiako made this known on Friday, June 14, 2024 during his installation and crowning ceremony as Nze Ojriiakatugbuoebele at Umubochi Ofekatta autonomous community, Awo-Omamma in Oru East L.G.A of Imo state, Nigeria.
Nze Ojiriakatugbuoebele said that he has travelled far and wide and saw that countries all over the world maintain their cultures as custodians of cultures and traditions and that many have decided to come back to their cultural heritage including Britain, Asia, Pakistan, Germany and other African countries.
Nze Ojiaku advised Ozo Title holders to always tell the truth at all times and avoid intimidating other people who are not yet Ndi Nze. Nze Ojiako advised Ndi Nze na Ozo to show good example with the cultural title. He express happiness and thanked God for being an Ozo title holder because he has been dreaming about it since. He disclosed that he appreciated all the people that featured during the event.
Ojiriakatugbuoebele called on Government at various levels to encourage school teachers to teach school children in Igbo land to speak Igbo language. He said for instance in London, a Pakistan born in London always speaks their native language. He really thanked God that he made everything possible and successful event.
During a Press interview, the head of Nze na Ozo in Umubochi, Nze Maxwell Ebere Esomonu (Nze Akolama) explained that Nze Theophilus Ojiaku is well qualified for the Ozo title being an honest man that has no criminal behavior and passed their screening before he was crowned with the title of Nze Ojiriakatugbuoebele of Awo-Omamma as a good citizen.
According to Nze Akolama, Ozo title which is the highest title in Igbo land is performed on village bases. He said that this one installed on Nze Ojiriakatugbuoebele is done for Nze Umubochi and also for every level of communities and towns in Ala Igbo.
Nze Akolama concluded that Nze naOzo is a thing of
happiness and joy with no fetish attachment or idol worship of which every Nze must have a wife who automatically is called Lolo Nze.
