Bayelsa Ex-Commissioner -Alek Celebrates 80yrs of God’s Faithfulness

One time commissioner for Women and Social Development in Bayelsa State, Rev..Mrs. Jane P. Alek has appreciated God for His enduring faithfulness and mercies that have kept her alive for 80 years.
Family, friends, well wishers and Church members join the celebrant recently to celebrate 80 years of God’s grace at a Birthday Thanksgiving and Crusade with the theme;” The Vow ” organized by the Christ New and Living Way Ministry at the Gabriel Okara Cultural Centre, Yenagoa, Bayelsa State.
Speaking on the theme of the crusade titled ” The Vow ” the guest minister, Pastor Doumo Apere said a believer can never give God something and receive less, adding that when a Christian gives anything to God he receives more.
Apere who took her text from 1st Samuel 1: 10-15, 16-34 said Hannah that was called barren vowed to God that “if Lord will indeed look upon her affliction and give her a male child she will return the child to the Lord”, hinting that after Hannah fulfilled her vow and gave her Samuel, she later gave birth to seven more children.


She admonished those who haven’t given their lives to Christ to do so, as according to her the only life that guarantees eternal life is that lived in Christ Jesus, insisting that life in Christ doesn’t exempt someone from trials and temptations but that believers always triumph because whom they believed has overcome for them.
The woman of God cautioned the congregation against the excessive pursuit of materialism at the detriment of their souls, adding that every soul will definitely give account of its deeds before the Creator.
In his goodwill message, the immediate past deputy governor of Bayelsa State and Chairman Bayelsa Elders Forum, Rear Admiral Gboribiogha John Jonah eulogized the celebrant for her distinguished service to motherland and Bayelsa State, stressing that she has garnered a lot of experience through hard work.
John-Jonah while congratulating the celebrant for attaining 80 years in strong health and wisdom recounted her motherly advice to him as the chairman, Bayelsa Elders Forum.
Speaking also , President of the Izon Ladies Association, ILA Yenagoa Branch, Dorcas Margaret Agidee described Rev. Mrs Alek as a woman who loves God and lover of Ijaw cause who will do everything to ensure that the rights of the Ijaw sons and daughters are not trampled upon.
Agidee said she is an epitome of love, humility, integrity and hard work, these virtues she said as Founder of the organization are what she bequeathed to them.
Chairman of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria,PFN, Bayelsa State , Pastor Tam Seth Eyedoude described Rev. Mrs. Alek as a Kingdom investor who serves God wholeheartedly, saying that she is a blessing to the Church and the Pentecostal Fellowship in Bayelsa State.
Speaking to newsmen, the celebrant, Rev. Mrs. Jane P. Alek said she decided to celebrate her 80th birthday with a thanksgiving crusade in appreciation of God’s faithfulness and loving kindness for her life.
Alek emphasized that there is so much societal decadence because the youths lack basic family values.
She added that as the Founder of the Izon Ladies Association, ILA, the organization intends to build a Secretariat where the youths will be educated on right family values.
She advised the young ones who are in a hurry through all kinds of illicit activities towards getting fame and money ;to thread with caution as such life may lead to destruction.
