…Receives ISWAMAC, NYCN

The Chairman, National Union of Road Transport Workers, NURTW, Imo State Chapter, Hon Samuel Udeh(Ezeumuokorobia), has once again expressed his profound appreciation to the Executive Governor of Imo State, Senator Hope Uzodimma, for demonstrating love and recognising to the union in the state.
The Imo State NURTW Boss received a delegation from Imo State Waste Management Company, ISWAMAC, and National Youth Council of Nigeria, NYCN, Imo State Chapter, on separate courtesy visits to him at the Imo NURTW State Secretariat in Owerri, Tuesday, reiterated his solid support to the Shared Prosperity Administration of Governor Uzodinma, saying the union was well pleased with the government of the day.
In his speech, the Director General of ISWAMAC, Cyril Njoku, intimated the Imo NURTW boss, and the Owerri Municipal Council chairmen who was present at the meeting, on plans and strategies of the company aimed at keeping the state clean. He said such was also in line with the state government vision of an clean, organized state.
Njoku disclosed that the very essence of their visit was to seek the Union’s cooperation and partnership, which he said, would enable the company effectively carryout the directives of the state government and achieve the desired result of having a clean and healthy state.
The ISWAMAC boss disclosed that the strategies of the agency towards repositioning and beautifying the state and its environs, have positively affected some parking points in Owerri Metropolis like Ama JK by Okigwe Road, Control Post, Wethderal Road by Emmanuel College, among others. He said drivers have been mandated to relocate to the properly designated parks.
Responding, Hon Udeh thanked the agency for deeming it necessary to visit the union and to inform them of their plans, assuring them of the union’s full cooperation and partnership in order to enhance the success of 3R Government of Governor Uzodinma.
In a related development, the executives of National Youth Council of Nigeria, NYCN, Imo State Branch, led by its State Cordinator, Comrade Humphrey Osuji, said that their vist was to familiarize with the union, seek working relationship with NURTW and to officially inform the Chairman that the long-time leadership tussle which destabilized the activities of the Youth Council, has been resolved through a court ruling that pronounced the Osuji-led executive as the authentic leadership of the Council in Imo.
He also informed, that the Ministry of Youths and Sports which acts as the supervising ministry to the youth council in the state, has also recognized them in the absence of any appeal or other court cases.
The group described Hon Udeh as a ‘youth- friendly leader,” saying that his sagacious leadership has earned him their respect and loyalty.
Reacting, , Udeh who warmly welcomed the youth council, reminded them that as a youth himself, he delights so much in the progress of youths. He noted that since Governor Uzodimma availed him the ladder of leadership to climb on, he has been empowering youths around him, assuring that he was ever willing to assist the youth council in their areas of need.
