Governance Has Collapsed In Imo, Alleges LP’s Nwulu …Accuses Uzodinma of abandoning duties

Emeka Nwulu, the deputy governorship candidate of the Labour Party,LP in the November 11,2023 Imo state governorship poll, has accused Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodinma, of neglecting his constitutional responsibilities, leading to a collapse of governance in the state Nwulu alleged that Uzodinma has been absent from the state for over thirty days without handing over to his deputy or ensuring the functionality of the state executive council.
During the weekend, the former House of Representatives member voiced his concerns, stating, “The collapse of governance in Imo State is evident in the governor abandoning his duties.”
“With the governor missing in action for the past 30 days, the state is left directionless and devoid of leadership,” he added.
Nwulu criticized Uzodinma for running Imo State like an empire and failing to fulfill his promises to the people. He expressed deep concern over the absence of proactive measures to alleviate economic hardship in the state during this period.
“Imo State is being run like someone’s empire. The State is like a vessel without a captain,” Nwulu remarked.
He further emphasized, “At a time when Imo State urgently requires proactive measures to alleviate economic hardship, Governor Uzodimma’s abandonment of his people is deeply troubling.”
“His actions raise doubts about his legitimacy as a leader chosen by the people,” Nwulu concluded.
