While Families were still enjoying the Christmas and New Year Celebrations across the globe, same may not be said of Families of two male lovers allegedly killed in cold blood over their homosexual lifestyle in the Northern part of Nigeria.
It was an eyesore at Lafia, in Nasarawa State, last week, Wednesday, January 3, 2024, as irate youths maimed, tortured and murdered two male adults caught having canal knowledge of each other inside a rickety Corolla car in a late night of the said day.
The incident, it was gathered from an eye witness account narrated that, before security operatives could approach the location, the two apprehended gay men had already given up the ghost following the matchet cuts and stoning inflicted on them.
One of the sources (names withheld) disclosed that at about 9:00pm on Wednesday, an alarm was raised by his son and his other four friends returning from the field for their usual evening football training, when they saw two men kissing beside a nearby parked car.
She said, while the boys were still narrating what they saw, her husband who overheard the boys’ discussion immediately left the room only to inform the head of the street youths.
On reaching the spot, the two men identified as Jide Abiola 36 years and Musa Haliu 31 years were already pants down having annal sex at the back seat of the car.
“Infuriated and disgusted by that sight, one of the youths pierced the left ribs of one of the homosexual. They were not granted luxury of time for more explanations”, the anonymous eyewitness told Nigeria Newspoint.
During their confession while being quizzed by the youth leader addressed as Hassan Abdul, the already worn out Jide in his pool of blood disclosed that it was the devil that led him into the act, regretting that he forgot how stringent Muslims can be against gay acts.
It is also notable that the Nigerian constitution abhors such same sex act and penalizes convicted offenders to 14 years jail term.
It was further said that Jide listed some of his homosexual friends including his official partner whom he had dated for over nine years, by name, Emmanuel Uchechukwu Akpa.
More revelations from the confession of Jide as relayed to the media showed that while Emmanuel Uchechukwu Akpa hails from Ebonyi State in the South East region, himself Jide was from Osun State in the Western region, and Musa Haliu was from Kano State, the Northern Part.
When the whereabouts of Emmanuel who was missing in action was demanded , Jide said, Emma recently travelled, a major reason he was caught in the act with another sex mate just to manoeuvre his sexual urge.
Under more persuasion, it was learnt that Jide further disclosed of the whereabouts of Emmanuel’s mother, Mrs Regina Simon Akpa, who was also residing in Nasarawa State.
Jide was still talking when he received the last matchet cut on his skull which sent him to the world beyond, alongside his sex mate, Musa.
Further information gathered showed that the angry mob left the vicinity on hearing the Police siren,also fully accompanied by the Vigilante group.
Another resident of the area who spoke in Hausa language said, “Mr Talle Danladi had been arrested by the police. He could not run when the others ran because he is old but the police took him with the dead bodies to the station.
“Even me, fear did not allow me to come out. Everywhere was blood.
“‘Yan luwadi ne masu jini a jika, sun cancanci mutuwa. Alkur’ani mai girma bai goyi bayansa ba. Meaning (they are bloody homosexuals, they deserve to die. Holy Qur’an does not support it)”, h said .
When contacted for feedback, the Police Public Relations Officer,PPRO confirmed the incident and said investigations would follow immediately since there are details concerning the whereabouts of the family of the mentioned gay suspects who were at large as at the time of filing this report.
The PPRO regretted the murder of the two grown up men through a jungle justice, though he vowed that they must fish out the remaining fags to face the full wrath of the Law.
He made it clear ,that the t he law must be followed especially as demanded by the angry youths for desecrating the land through an abnormal sexual practice.
