…As community, police lay manhunt for fleeing suspect
If not for the timely intervention of the men of the Nigeria Police Force, NPF, two men allegedly caught in an act of sodomy recently would have become ordinary dust as an angry mob almost roasted them like bush meat in the Ogbunabali community of Rivers state.
The said act of taboo happened, Thursday, November 2, 2023 in the sleeping Ogbunabali community of Rivers state and it would have been the sad end of the two young men on earth ; Ogah Emmanuel Chidiebere and Victor Kenneth.
The duo were said to have been caught pants down while having anal sex in Ogah Emmanuel’s house on the fateful day.
It was gathered that while Emmanuel, 31 years, is married with a son, his gay mate, Victor Kenneth is single and both are said to have been intimate pals before Emmanuel got married, five years ago.
The act of sodomy, it was also gathered is an abomination in the Riverine community of Ogbunabali and culprits are usually punished for what is said to be desecration of the land.
Culprits are reported to had been killed, ostracized or banished to serve as deterrent to others in the area.
It will be recalled that in Nigeria, the National Assembly, NASS has passed a bill which was duly assented into law fixing a fourteen year jail term for anyone caught in the act(s) of homosexuality and lesbianism.
Since then also, massive arrests have been made by security operatives of suspected gay partners or practices across the country.
It was reported that luck ran out on Emmanuel and his sex mate, Kenneth on that fateful Thursday afternoon, while Ogah’s wife, Ogochukwu was away to her work.
Emmanuel was said to have sneaked in his male lover, Victor Kenneth but unknown to them, Emmanuel’s wife’s elder brother, Emeka Umeh, trailed them down to the house, having been suspicious of the brother in-law (Ogah Emmanuel) of being a gay.
It was Emeka who exposed the indecent act at the point and he claimed to have taken a graphic footage of the brother in-law having anal sex with another man (Victor) on his matrimonial bed.
“On seeing the gory sight of my so called brother in-law, Emmanuel, having anal sex with his fellow man and so called boy friend, I got angry and could not bear it.So, I had to raise an alarm which attracted neighbours and passersby who gathered.
“I also notified my sister of what her husband was into, a chronic homosexual even after over five years of their marriage”, Emeka said angrily.
Eye witness account also stated that while Emmanuel escaped from the mob, Victor Kenneth was unlucky as he was heavily assaulted by the angry mob.
He was later rescued and taken up by the police as his body was full of blood following the beating from the irate mob.
The mob made up majorly of Ogbunabali youths disclosed that act of sodomy was a part of the things forbidden by culture in their community.
Further information from the area revealed that before now, it is on record that the 31 year-old Emmanuel had severally been reported to be involved in gay activities, even after giving birth to his son.
Meanwhile, it is reported that tension has been rife in the area since the black Thursday when his illicit sexual act was busted with his male lover, Emmanuel’s whereabouts has been unknown, even as the police and agitating youths still demand his arrest so as to face jungle justice or face the full weight of the law.
It was further gathered that a serious manhunt has been laid to nab the fleeing gay character.
