The traditional ruler of Ishiala-Umudi Autonomous community in Nkwerre Local Government Area, HRH, Eze Joel Udenkwo has commended Eze Imo, HRM, Eze Emmanuel Okeke on his 2023 Irji ceremony held recently in Owerri.
Eze Udenkwo gave the commendation on the maiden Iriji Eze Imo festival held at Eze Imo palace which attracted traditional rulers in the state, friends and well wishers, dignitaries from far and near among others who came en mass to grace the occasion which was a huge success.
The Ishiala-Umudi monarch who is also, the Chairman of Nkwerre Local Government Council of traditional rulers and the Chairman Nkwerre/Nwangele/ Isu/Njaba Federal constituency Council of traditional rulers described the occasion as a welcome development and step in the right direction.
He also lauded Eze Okeke for the initiative in planning such a wonderful occasion that brought together people within the state and from outside Imo state.

who also described the host Eze Okeke as a man with a good heart who carries all the royal fathers in the state along in the scheme of things without discrimination, a philanthropist per excellence who has used his personal resources to help some of the traditional rulers who are not bouyant enough to have a sense of belonging.
He equally, posited that the new yam festival is a re-union of family and community members both at home and in diaspora and therefore provides opportunity for settlement of disputes among the people.descrbing, the event as an age longed culture, an inheritance from the ancestors.
In his remarks, the Chairman of Imo State Traditional Institution and Community Policing, HRM Eze Emmanuel Okeke thanked the Almighty God for making the day a reality, appreciated the people for identifying and celebrating with him on the maiden 2023 Iriji Eze Imo Cultural Festival.
Eze Okeke who is also, the Executive Member South East Council of Traditional Rulers and Executive Member National Council of Traditional Rulers stated that the festival is a collective resolve to showcase, promote and propagate the Igbo culture/customs noting, that this is the first time the event is being held in our great and hospital state.
The Royal Father however stated, that the recognition and premium placed on the traditional Institution ever since the present administration came on board has given birth to this grand event Imolites are all witnessing today.
He reiterated that the New Yam Festival is the most significant cultural heritage/ ceremony celebrated by the Igbos annually, a time to thank God not only for His numerous blessings but for giving us the opportunity to plant and also be alive to reap the harvest.
