The leadership of a frontline support-group for Gov.Hope Uzodinma’s re-election bid ahead of the awaited November, 11 Governorship Election in Imo state, the’Uzodinma Grassroots Women in Imo State’,has commended the wife of the State Governor,Barr. Chioma Uzodinma for a hitch-free Imo women’s August meeting in the state.
In a statement made available to Newsmen in Owerri, signed by the Co-ordinator of the Support-Group in the state,Hon.Ijeoma Ndubuisi Alinna, the group expressed gratitude and solidarity for the Imo First Lady,also in view of her sterling leadership qualities in piloting the affairs of Imo women, which she said,translated into peace,due respect and support for their husbands, together with desirable unity of purpose among Imo women.
According to her, the women are the pillar of nation-building, adding that Mrs.Chioma Uzodinma has demonstrated will and commitment in ensuring that the rights of women are protected in the state, even as Mrs.Alinna maintained that the Uzodinma Grassroots Women would remain supportive of the Shared Prosperity administration in the state led by the Governor, using the instrumentalities of the Imo First Lady as a Springboard.
In the same vein,Mrs.Alinna used the occasion to pledge unalloyed support of her members to the Imo state Governor towards the November, 11 Poll.
She informed that the group is ever ready to galvanize overwhelming support by way of massive mobilization of Imo women for the Governor’s reelection to enable him do more benevolence to the people of Imo state beyond 2023.
She lauded the Governor . for his providing the citizenry with quality road-infrastructure and distribution of the petroleum subsidy removal palliatives.
She also hailed the Governor for being gender friendly by his selection of a female running mate,Mrs.Chinyere Ekomaru, among other benevolent attributes of the Governor.
It would be recalled that the Co-ordinator of Uzodinma Grassroots Women,Mrs.Alinna is working tirelessly with the Owerri zonal Co-ordinator of the group, Mrs Chinedu Akaluso and Mrs.Jessinta Ukoha (Okigwe zonal Co-ordinator) in the realization of Gov.Uzodinma’s reelection.
