The governorship candidate of the Action Democratic Party,ADP and an illustrious son of Ahiazu local government area of Imo state Chief Kachi Nwoga has re-iterated his resolve to change the face of the state if elected governor come November 11 gubernatorial election. Chief Nwoga made this disclosure on Tuesday at Aboh Township stadium Aboh mbaise during the 2023 Mbaise new yam festival, Chief Nwoga who came in company of his running mate, Barr. Vivian Otti disclosed that Imo state people has suffered so much that his kind of person with huge experience should come into the Saddle. Chief Nwoga disclosed that he has served successive government since the inception of democracy in1999, speaking further the Ahiazu mbaise born gubernatorial candidate hinted that Imo has not gotten it right in terms governorship because those who has been ruling Imo do not have the interest of the people at heart. He stated that who Imo people need at this point in time is a man who has deep knowledge of the economy and the potential to salvage the state of the hopelessness that Imo people found themselves today. He disclosed that there’s going to be a total turn around in all sectors. The ADP gubernatorial candidate revealed that he has the best tactics to tackle security challenges in the state. He mentioned that all the stakeholders in the 27 LGAs of the state must come together in unity to discuss problems facing the state. Dr. Nwoga also hinted that he will create a harmonising relationship with the traditional institution and make sure that every Traditional ruler operates from his home Town and know the problem of his people. Dr Nwoga vow to tackle the issue of unemployment. He hinted that the high rate of unemployed youth in the state is the reason why crime continue to sower high. He also disclosed that there will be prompt payment of civil servants and pensioners in the state. In another development, the guber candidate said that the Traditional new yam festival otherwise known as the iri iji mbaise has come to stay. He described it as one of the greatest cultural heritage in the entire Igbo race, he said that iriji mbaise is an annual event that cut across all the three local government in the clean, He hinted that iriji mbaise is the time when every mbaise sons and daughters has to live in peace with one another and fraternize, stating that the Traditional new yam ceremony is a unifying factor for all person’s in mbaise land. He said that the ceremony is devoid of politics and is strictly a traditional affair. He said that the Ezeji’s as the custodian of iriji will not allow the ceremony to be turned into political issue . The Action Democratic Party candidate revealed that iriji mbaise is an age long tradition that will be even passed to their children unborn.
