The Performing Musicians and Employers Association of Nigeria, PMAN, Imo State chapter, penultimate Tuesday joined the rest of the global community to celebrate the World Music Day. The event which held on Wednesday, took place at the prestigious Vanessa Paris Hotel, along Orlu road, Owerri.
Speaking to the Press at the Event, the Sole Administrator of the Imo State branch of the Performing Musicians and Employers Association of Nigeria, Lady Golda C. Njiribeako said that the 21st day of June, every year is special to all Musicians and those who work in the music Industry as it is set aside by the United Nations to celebrate the good work of Musicians in the society.
Lady Golda Njiribeako who until her appointment was the PMAN State Secretary and hostess of the Golda C Show on TV wondered how the world would have been without Music. She said she would use the opportunity given to her as the SOLAD of Imo PMAN to establish milestones that will take the music Industry in the state to an enviable height. Many Musicians from different local government branches of the Union performed at the ceremony.
Tops amongst them were the Oriental Brothers International Band, led by Chief Ferdinand Dansatch Opara, ND Arabanko, Allowance from Oru, Chief Madonna Eke from Okigwe South, Obed Ihiasota from Ikeduru branch, Holyman from Owerri and a host of others.
Veteran Entertainment Editor and former State Secretary of the Union, Comr Sir Austin Madu who was the chairman of the planning committee of the event said the new SOLAD of the Union is working assiduously with her Team to ensure that Imo music will not only play but also pay the musicians.
