…As court dismisses claims by fake company over markets management
In a swift intervention to recover Revenues accrued to the Nwaorieubi Market and Imo Modern Market in Egbeada-Ubomiri, Mbaitoli LGA,Imo state for accurate and prompt remittances to the state government coffers.the Sole Administrator, SOLAD of Mbaitoli LGA, Chief Hamilton Chinasa Opara has taken necessary measures aimed at flushing out illegal market managers and racketeering activities at both markets in Mbaitoli LGA.
Addressing journalists in his office at the Council headquarters, Nwaorieubi, on Tuesday, June, 20 the SOLAD said that a group of economic saboteurs, who parade a fictitious company known as ‘Colorado Integrated Logistics , had earlier alleged through a Newspaper publication that the Mbaitoli Council Authorities revoked,or, breached their contract with the LGA to manage and control major markets in the LGA, forged documents authorizing themselves and their proxies in perpetrating sundry criminal activities in the said markets on behalf of Mbaitoli Local Government Council.
According to him, when the cartel of the self-authorized market managers in the name of Colorado Integrated Logistics Company was invited by the Council authorities, in order to ascertain the authenticity of their documents of award of contact, they blatantly refused to honour the invitation as at press time, for no other reason than the documents they parade are forged by themselves, as an aid to steal government r-monies from the affected markets.
He further informed that the master-mind of the diversion of government revenue monies accrued to the major markets in Mbaitoli LGA is one Mr.Uzoma Ekeanyanwu, a former employee of Mbaitoli LGA, who was transferred to another LGA in Imo state,but failed to proceed on transfer as directed by the Local Government Service Commission, as a result of his committed engagements in illegal market-managements and sundry racketeering activities with his cohorts.
The Mbaitoli SOLAD, regretted that Ekeanyanwu and cohorts have long before now, been engaged in the illegal allocation of shops to different unsuspecting persons at the said markets, adding that,in most cases, Ekeanyanwu and co-economic saboteurs give out one shop to more than five persons at intervals, all with forged documents bearing the Seal of Mbaitoli Local Government executive officer.
Chief Opara also hinted that, when the former Director of Administration and General Services, DAGS of Mbaitoli Local Government Area Council, was contacted over the alleged award of contact to Colorado Integrated company, he said that the Council authorities are neither aware of the said contract, nor, the existence of such Market management firm.
The Mbaitoli SOLAD, maintained that Ekeanyanwu and co-culprits shall face justice in keeping with Gov.Hope Uzodinma’s 3-R policy-thrust of recovering stolen revenue-monies of the Imo State’s economy, among others.
Meanwhile, a competent court of jurisdiction sitting in Nwaorieubi,on Tuesday, June, 20, struck out for lack of merit, a suit filed by the said Colorado Integrated Logistics , alleging revocation of the contract awarded it by the Mbaitoli Council Authorities.
The Mbaitoli Council Boss has vowed to bring to book all illegal collectors of the council’s revenues. Describing them as enemies of development in Mbaitoli, “these hoodlums have shortchanged his administration in having the necessary funds to meet the infrastructural needs of taxpayers in Mbaitoli”,he said.
