The Governorship candidate for the Action Democratic Party, ADP, Dr Kachi Nwaga has described his Deputy Governorship candidate, Barrister Vivian Otti as a woman of substance and good character.
Dr Nwoga made the remark during a meeting with the state working committee of the party held at his country home in Umuezuo Umuokirika Ahiazu Mbaise of Imo State, weekend. Nwoga said the likes of Otti were the kind of people that one would always want to count on in his government due to her doggedness adding that people even mistake her to be a man.
He said he was proud of Otti as a woman because according to him, women have allot to offer and always bring good things home.
Speaking further, Nwoga noted that his government will carry women and youths along including people with disabilities .
He also frowned at the 10th Imo House of Assembly where no single woman was among the 27 members-elect adding that things would not go well in any society that do not have women to move motions.
He fourther affirmed that he was capable of tackling the insecurity in the state if given the opportunity to become the next governor. According to him, he belongs to a strategic group in Abia state that holds meetings every Monday in Aba and they are the people who restored peace in that state.
He also pointed out that whatever method they used in restoring peace in Abia can also be applicable in Imo so that imolites can start sleeping with their two eyes close, while their brothers and sisters abroad can come to the villages without ending their journeys in Lagos and Abuja. He also assured that he would make it possible for marriages, burials and others to be conducted in the villages than taking place in the cities as it is been done presently in different cities.
Dr. Nwoga commended the party execs for honoring the meeting, saying that it was for them to plan and take critical decisions on how to go about spreading the good news of ADP and how to make imolites proud if given the maximum support come 11th November 2023. He also commended some citizen putting in their best to ensure that imo becomes what it use to be.
Also speaking the Deputy Governorship candidate Barr Otti enjoined the state excos to go home, re-strategize and sit-up for grassroots journey. She also advised them not to have a biased mind against one another adding that alot would be gained in due time.
