…Lawmakers: Dibiagwu, Nwosu must stop man named ‘Kill and Bury’
There seem to be no respite or hope of salvation in sight for the natives and residents of Amakpuruedere, IZOMBE Community in Obeabor Autonomous Community in Oguta LGA,Imo State as Gunmen who allegedly always dress in Army uniform daily invade the area, reportedly terrorising and killing any man seen in the community.
Last Monday, one Ben was stopped on the road, instantly shot and killed. His house was equally reportedly razed with bullets from an Amoured Vehicle.
On Friday, two brothers, Chike and Izuka were killed by the said men dressed in Army uniform. Their corpses said to have been abandoned with no one to bury them.
Investigation revealed that a man, simply identified as ‘Kill and Bury’ supposedly a native of Izombe is the one now taking the said men in uniform round, breaking people’s homes and fishing out any man seen and killing them.
The carnage in Amakpuruedere Community of Izombe began by February this year and has since persisted, making even the traditional rulers to run away from their palaces.
As at the weekend the entire community has been deserted with over one hundred houses burnt by these unidentified uniform men reportedly streaming the once peaceful Amakpuruedere Community in Armoured vehicles.
Investigation further revealed that the Imo state Ebubeagu security outfit is stationed at Umuokwu Izombe allegedly combing the bushes and people’s home as early as 6am in the morning, when the people get ready to go to their farms,in the Agrarian Community.
Some leaders and youths who spoke to Nigeria Newspoint under anonymity said that the killings have gone on with no respite from the state government nor Commissioner of police, Mohammed Barde.
They equally bemoaned their fate that their House of Representatives member,Hon.Eugene Dibiagwu, their lmo Lawmaker,Hon. Gilbert Nwosu, their brothers;Air Commodore Ogueri Ifeobu,Col Egwuagu , lawyers from the area and a recently appointed Judge are all keeping quiet in the face of these tragedies befalling their kiths and kin.
The people are therefore calling on the Inspector General of Police,IGP and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to intervene and put paid to the daily spilling of blood of youths and the elderly men in the area.
It is reported that most of the Izombe families have now escaped and are taking shades in neighbouring communities such as :Akabo,Ejemekwuru,Orogwe,Awa,Irete while some ran to Owerri, the State capital.
