…Gives nod to Uzodinma’s re-election
Senator Samuel Anyanwu (Sam Daddy) and Senator Ezenwa Onyewuchi have both received a congratulatory message of an Elder statesman, Prince Bob Kay Njemanze on their election victories. While Senator Anyanwu received the kudos of the fiery social crusader, Prince Bob Njemanze on his emergence as the flag bearer of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP at the recently conducted governorship primaries in Owerri, and Senator Onyewuchi of the Labour Party, LP, who is also the current Senator representing Imo East at the Red Chamber, got a pat on his back from the Owerri Nchi Ise- born Elder statesman for his triumph at the February 25, Senatorial election.
Elder Njemanze has also given his nod to the reelection bid of the Imo governor, Senator Hope Uzodinma who has continued to receive endorsements from different quarters to run for his second tenure on the platform of his party, the All Progressive Congress APC.
This was contained in a statement made available to the media at the week end where the respected elder statesman, Prince Bob Njemanze disclosed his hope that the peaceful nature with which the PDP governorship primaries were conducted in Imo would prevail on the other political parties. He said that ” What Imo is looking for is issue- based politics. Our politics should not be a do or die affair, but rather politics with the interest of our people in view”.
Prince Njemanze beckoned on all the elders in Imo, whatever Forum they belong, to guard and guide the political elites rather than see themselves as members of any political party.
He posited that “We must learn to see our political gladiators as our children in a healthy competition”.
Elder Njemanze called on the elders of Imo to play the fatherly roles that would amicably evoke healthy grounds for electioneering and elections proper in the state since the contestants are all Imo sons and daughters.
While also commending the state governor for ensuring a maximum security during the PDP governorship primaries in Imo and for his non- infiltrating interference that would have created rancour,he called on the state government not to relent in her duties to continue to provide such maximum security in the state especially at this period ahead of the November 2023 governorship election in Imo.
