Prove me right if I am wrong, to observe that throughout the political history of Nigeria, the recent political developments are very strange indeed.So many unusual things are happening and more surprises are bound to spring up in the nearest future.Worthy of note is that the electioneering campaigns are yet to kick off officially ,according to the INEC guidelines.But one can hardly believe that what is going on are mere political consultations in preparation for the campaigns.However, the political parties in the contest as well as the candidates are gearing up, strategizing and getting set to go into the fields to plant their manifestos in the minds,hearts and consciousness of the anxious electorates across the length and breadth of Nigeria.
As for the elections proper, every contestant has one motive and major drive ; to win the election and grab political power upon being sworn in.
Meanwhile,to achieve these ultimate goals as stated in the foregoing, lots of ploys and tools are enployable.Part of such arsenal is the dangerous tool for image making or marring.To make or mar the political opponents or proponent’s images.Even, prior to the official take off of the electioneering campaigns, issues are sought out,dug out, exhumed and excavated to substantiate efforts at the character assassinations, vituperative aspersions, tirades, mudslingings and opprobrious defamation.
As a matter of fact, every iota of point worth making the issue built up within the searching process is ultimately utilized against the targeted candidate.They form the basis of the bundles of negative insinuations, frame-ups, concorted spurious tell tales against the opposition and opponents.At the moment, the momentum is gathering,with inordinate dissipation of negative campaigns and insinuations, frame-ups, spurious concorted stories about the perceived most popular contestant–Peter Obi.The opposition is out desperately to do anything humanly possible to stop Peter Obi.
Interestingly, there are four distinguished major contestants out of the myriads of them, which includes: the Presidential candidates of the APC,PDP,LP and NNPP. These four candidates cum political nicknames namely:Bola Ahmed Tinubu (BAT), Alhaji Atiku Abubakar (ARTICULATE),Peter Obi (OBI-DIENT )and Rabiu Kwankwaso( KWANKWA-SHIGA), respectively are all in the eyes of storm, albeit relatively.But,out of the four candidates as distinguished above,three seem to be ganged up against one of them –Peter Obi.This is quite akin to the biblical story of how three nations namely:Moab,Ammon and Mount Seir rose up to the battle against one nation–Judah.And,we all read how it ended,when God’s intervention is factored in.
Glaringly, the cynosure of the People’s eyes at the moment is unarguably the candidate of the Labour Party,LP in the person of Mr.Peter Obi.He is actually at the receiving end, being the most popular of them all.The trio of Tinubu, Atiku and Kwankwaso are engrossed in the baleful acts of slander and character assassination, vituperative aspersions, tirades, mudslinging and opprobrious campaigns against one person –the LP candidate Peter Obi.And whereas the later is busy encouraging the forlorn Nigerian Youths and bewildered electorates,that there’s light at the end of the tunnel,with the right person in-charge, others are running gauntlet of him.This is a pointer to one fact– others alike that ganged up are either bereft of ideas, vicious, rapacious, avaricious and envious.Or,that they have been pushed to such a tight situation and are seriously panicked. Many Nigerians perceived the conspirators as spent forces and neophytes.
However, whichever interpretations made out of the goings-on, the truth remains that there’s a reason for the actions.And such reasons must surely be traced to the obvious, as earlier mentioned.The emergence and choice of the OBID–ATTI movements and combination constitute a big treat to the oppositions, especially Tinubu,Atiku and even Kwankwaso.Now, they are encamped to besiege the OBID–ATTI movement as the first business assignment,with little or proof of their intents and purposes for aspiring to rule Nigeria.The world is watching, keenly interested in this country.Take it or leave it too, Nigerians are waking up to the reality.That of course, is the first consolation of the spectators alike ,as well as the bewildered electorates, and the agitated Youths.And that’s curious too
Asked what the recent political development implies, the pertinent answers remain, that, it’s ominous of one fact–the down of a new era is nearby. Something new is about to happen. The OBID–ATTI combination is bound to be a successful enterprise.The stage is getting stirred up seriously for the longed-for National rebirth.
The ensuing bandwagon is the consequences of the unconsciously unconscionable conspiracy theory that is bound to boomerang.The popularity of the OBID–ATTI venture is growing in leaps and bounds and proportionately to the tempo of opposition and negative campaigns.
Surly, the struggle is getting lesser and the movement stronger with every inch of the ongoing virulent opposition.The more the opposition criticize the OBID–ATTI movements, the stronger it emerges and the closer it’s soars to the destination –Presidency 2023 is very possible.
