It was an exciting moment for pupils, teachers and the entire management of Unique Mustard Seed Montessori Schools, as parents, guardians friends and well wishers came around to witness their graduation ceremony.
The graduation ceremony of the nursery 3 and primary 6 pupils of the school which took place at the school premises at World Bank, Owerri, last week, was indeed fun filled as pupils demonstrated excellent skills in debate, news casting, quiz competition, drama, children etiquette, recitation, cultural dance.
Speaking, the chairman of the occasion who doubled as chairman, Parents and Teachers Forum (PTF) of Unique Mustard Seed Montessori Schools, Mr. Offiong Inyang, expressed joy over the level of intelligence and academic excellence exhibited by the pupils, saying he is proud of the school which he noted produces great minds.
He noted that the school is known for diligence and excellence, adding that their teachers are very intelligent and God- fearing, attributes which he said enable them to impact greatness in the pupils, transforming even those children who may be seen as dullards into becoming smart, brilliant pupils, advising the teachers and school management never to give up in their good work made evident in the lives of the pupils, urging the graduands to forge ahead in hardwork to sustain the virtues inculcated in them.
Inyang regretted that the deplorable state of the road leading to the school which is also a major road to Coca Cola and Immigration Centres, Opposite Ideal Suit Hotel, World Bank, has been posing a big challenge for parents and pupils in accessing the school easily, also a pain to residents who find it difficult to get to their homes or move out for their business, appealing to the state government to urgently intervene on the road and alleviate their sufferings.
Showing off her happiness, the Proprietress and Headmistress of the school, Mrs. Esther Ogechi Jinga, thanked God Almighty for a successful graduation, appreciating those who graced the occasion, including her pupils for representing the school well through their applauding presentations.
She disclosed that the school has been in existence since 2001 having graduated men and women who are doing well in their various fields of endeavours and others who are undergraduates in various tertiary institutions in the country and outside, affirming that her pupils are given balanced education which moulds them into being pacesetters, adding that the school motto “Nurturing Godly Seeds for Future Greatness” is a vision given to her by God to train up children in the right way they should go so that when they are old they will not depart from it.
The Proprietress averred that education cannot be complete in a child’s life if the head, heart and hand which are the 3 educational Hs are not affected, stating that her school makes sure these three Hs of pupils are effectively affected, teaching them the word and ways of God, thereby raising up perfect children, praying that the graduands would shine more while retaining and nurturing the godly seed planted in them.
Just as the Guest Speaker, Pastor. Sam Onyeje, took the parents through a topic, “Responsibility of Parents in Nurturing their Children for Greatness”, reading from Deu.6vs1, admonished parents and guardians to raise their children to know God well and not just focused in their academics, saying children should be holistically trained in order to be the pride of their generation.
Lending their voices, Mrs. Pricillia Chidimma Eze, mother of a graduand and Miss Ayoka Chiemela Sylvia, an ex pupil of the school, who spoke on behalf of the Old Boys and Girls of Unique Mustard Seed Montessori Schools, commended the doggedness of the teachers and management towards impacting knowledge and fear of God in the pupils, advising them to hold fast the good morals imbibed in them while remaining focused as they dive into the secondary school, a place they described as a mini university where good and evil abound.
