Celebrations, As Vera Weds Ben

The wedding reception ceremony between Miss Vera Munachi Ekeocha from Amaorie Obibiezena in Owerri North Local Government Area and Mr Benjamin Amaechi  Ehiudo from Ihitte Otulu Ahiara in Ahiazu Mbaise LGA has took place last Saturday at St Patrick’s Secondary School Afor Ogbe playground.

The wedding ceremony was well attended by people from all walks of life professionals and dignitaries including the former Director General Imo Foundation, Chief Dr Mrs Pat Eke and the Acting DG, Imo Broadcasting Corporation, IBC, Owerri, Sir Richard Nkwopara among others.

In an interview with newsmen on the occasion, Chief Dr Mrs Eke who is also a Women  Reformer expressed delight that the union was started by God and God was also present on their wedding day to cement the marriage and prayed for their long life, happiness  understanding and a successful marriage.

She advised the couple to embrace the fear of God and live happily, charging the wife to be submissive to her husband while the husband should love his wife according to the word of God.

Also speaking the sponsor of the wedding, Hon Desmond Keke thanked God for the success of the wedding and prayed God to give the couple prosperity and  fruits of the womb.

The father of the bride and a civil servant, Mr Linus Ekeocha appreciated God for making him great and enjoined his daughter to sustain the qualities that attracted her to her husband and prayed God to redeem them in difficulty.

A metal fabricator and an uncle to the bride, Hon Francis Nwauwa advised the couple to focus on God and not to be distracted by anything.

Pst. Noel Anomnihe of the Overcomers encouraged potential couples to pray and know the will of God before marriage.

A businessman , Mr Patrick Eriogu appealed to the couple to live well, buid good Foundation in God while the groom’s elder brother, Mr John Chidi Ehiudo called for tolerance between the couple.

The mother of the bride, Mrs Constance Ekeocha  reminded them of the need to be united in order to progress and  advised them to shun 3rd party interference in their union.

In his remarks, the groom, Mr Ehiudo , a businessman identified his wife as humane, fine, pointing out that. he calls her princess, stressing that marriage is not a bed of roses so a man should get well prepared before he gets into marriage while the bride, Mrs Vera Ehiudo noted that she felt great, happy and satisfied  maintaining that her husband’s maturity in handling situations motivated her to marry him.

The highlights of the occasion were cutting of  the wedding cake, toast and bridal dance among others.
