A Frontline Aspirant in Ikeduru, Dr Obinna Obi Njoku whose aspiration has awoken the doggedness and consciousness of the youths in Ikeduru, has emerged APGA’s candidate for the Ikeduru House of Assembly.
Recall that some weeks ago APGA held the screening of aspirants and he was cleared to contest in the primaries.
“A man whose time has come and with a clean record”.
On Tuesday, May 24 the journey for the ticket of APGA was done and dusted, as Dr Obinna Obi Njoku clinched the victory.
The election which took place at APGA Secretariat at Iho Dimeze in Ikeduru LGA where Dr Obinna Obi Njoku scored 34 out of 36votes to emerge the winner was adjudged free and fair by all and sundry.
Speaking during casting of votes, the returning officer urged the delegates to vote with their conscience and not for monetary gains.
He also appreciated the aspirants for the way and manner they conducted themselves so far, playing the game of sportsmanship.
Mr Sharp who is the returning officer after counting the votes cast, returned Dr Obi Njoku as the elected candidate of All Progressive Grand Alliance, APGA in Ikeduru
Dr Obi Njoku thanked his followers for their steadfastness and genuine love for him and also thanked APGA family for the opportunity and promised not to let all down.
He was an aspirant and today he is a candidate glory be to God, many rejoiced.
Meanwhile, It was a joyous moment, grand declaration and first of its kind in Ikeduru as Dr Obi Njoku invited all and sundry to his epic declaration.
The ceremony was graced by many dignitaries and party faithful.
During the chairman’s remarks, he described Obinna Obi Njoku as the only person in the whole of Ikeduru LGA with the party’s ticket to contest while others are yet to become candidates of their various parties.
Speaking to the crowd, he emphasized that the hand of God is in the project and as Dr Obinna has emerged the first candidate for the House of Assembly in Ikeduru ,so shall he return victorious at the polls proper, come 2023
Speaking, Barr. Canice Madukaji (Obilimba) the APGA candidate for Owerri North State Constituency described Dr Obi Njoku as not only good in his profession as a Surgeon but good in other things and will do well in the House of Assembly as a Legislator.
According to him, ” if he has started doing things already without being a House of Assembly member what of when he is now in the House, Ikeduru is blessed with this young man and they will benefit”
In his own, Hon Anthony Ejiogu, a chieftain of APGA, described Obi as a man who is following the good footsteps of his father and will represent Ikeduru well
Responding, Obi Njoku thanked all his supporters and party faithful for coming and re-emphasised that his project is a youth oriented one and called on all youth structures to merge and work together to make this epic idea a reality.
The APGA LGA Youth leader with all ward youth leaders thanked God for giving them a youth as contestant and handed over the APGA party flag to him and enjoined him to go out and achieve.
Many have described Obi’s emergenc as the cruise to victory with much appreciation, saying Ndi Ikeduru are very much in support of Dr . Obi Njoku
At last ,they opined Ikeduru would have a voice in Imo.
