The member for Njaba state constituency in the Imo House of Assembly ,Hon Uju Onwudiwe has withdrawned her ambition to represent Nkwere, Isu, Nwangele and Njaba Federal Constituency in upcoming 2023 National Assembly Elections to support Chief Harrison Nwdike.
The Njaba Lawmaker and APC member made her position known while briefing journalists at her office, yesterday in Owerri.
Hon.Onwudiwe explained that her decision to withdraw from the race is strictly based on the love she has for the party,All Progressives Congress,APC in the state.
“I am here to brief you about my aspiration, my political steps. I got to where I am today,politically because I belong to a political party and basic tenets of partisan politics is party supremacy. For two consecutive terms, I represented the good people of Njaba as the candidate of the party and the member elected on the platform of the APC. Today, our great party needs me for a different assignment other than the position I wanted to run and I have no choice than to submit totally to the decision and wise guidance of the party”,she opined.
The lawmaker further stated that her desire to represent Nkwerre/Isu/Nwangele/Njaba Federal Constituency was born out of her passion to serve the people, build a Federal Constituency based on love, as well as to support the goals of the APC led government of Imo State to bring more democratic benefit to the people.
“Please, permit me to announce to you all that I am voluntarily,without any of my opponents approaching me to step down my aspiration for the 2023 House of Representatives election. As a loyal foundation member of APC. I further enjoin all of my supporters to throw your support and solidarity behind one of us, Chief Harrison Nwadike”,she declared.
In her words,”together, we shall all work to deliver APC and House of Assembly, Reps, Senate and Presidency”, Onwudiwe stressed.
She urged the people of Nkwerre/Isu/Nwangele/Njaba Federal Constituency to support Chief Harrison Nwadike and other APC candidates to win the 2023 election,and equally thanked Governor Hope Uzodinma and his wife for giving her the enablement to function effectively in politics and governance. The Lawmaker, popularly called Igolo by her admirers reassured of her commitment and loyalty to APC and the Governor.
She appreciated her supporters, members of “Igolo Njaba Campaign Organization” and the entire Njaba people for being with her all the time, even as she appealed to them to support and vote all APC candidates in the Federal Constituency.
