A traditional Medicine Practitioner CDr Nathaniel Ekechukwu has maintained that government should finance traditional Medicine as that will value to it and make it function effectively.
Dr Ekechukwu said this in Owerri during the innuguration of Owerri North executive of National Association of Nigeria Traditional medicine Practitioners ( NANTMP).
Dr Ekechukwu said, “Traditional medicine is important and needed government support where roots and leaves can be analysed for human consumption. Because of the level of literacy there is need for government to build laboratories for exploits.
He further said that if government should invest and improve traditional Medicine it will add more value to the society Pointing out that herbs and leaves are beneficial to health.
He appreciated the new executive for making themselves available for service, while encouraging them to work harder to move the association forward.

NANTMP advised them to take steps to weed out quacks from the system.
