The leaders of Umuohiagu Autonomous Community have paid solidarity visit to the Chairman of the Interim Management Committee, IMC, of Ngor Okpala LGA in Imo State to demonstrate their willingness to partner with the committee and Governor Hope Uzodinma’s ‘Shared Prosperity Agenda.’
The high-powered delegation had in attendance, Eze-elect Chief Donatus Nzeribe Nwachukwu, Chiefs, Ndi Nze Agu, Leadership of Umuohiagu Development Union, Union, UDU, Elders and some other notable personalities, who were at the office of the Ngor Okpala Council boss Tuesday.
Welcoming the delegation, the chairman of the council, Mayor Obinna Nweke expressed delight over the visit and commended the community leaders for ensuring peace and harmony in the community.
He also commended the community leaders for successfully selecting the new Eze-elect to fill the vacant Ezeship Stool in the community and assured of his readiness to continue to ensure peace in every community in Ngor Okpala.
Hon. Nweke described the visit as most welcome and suspicious in view of the strategic position of Umuohiagu Community in the socioeconomic and political equation of Ngor Okpala area.
Speaking earlier, the leader, Umuohiagu Council of Chiefs, Chief Uju Madu told the council chairman that Umuohiagu Community is desirous to partner with the IMC boss and the state government.
He thanked Hon. Nweke for sparing time to receive the delegation with warmth especially as he had to cut short his tight schedule to accommodate the visit and assured him of the unflinching support of Umuohiagu people.
Also speaking, Presidents-General of Umuohiagu Development Union, Hon. Sunny Ambrose Madu, informed the council boss that Umuohiagu is in tune with the ‘3R’ mantra of Governor Hope Uzodinma’s administration saying the people would continue to support the government.
Eze-elect of Umuohiagu, Chief Donatus N. Nwachukwu, appreciated the IMC Chairman for the opportunity to interface with the leaders of the community stressing that the visit was essentially to identify with his committee and the state government.
Other dignitaries in the delegation were; Attorney Matthew Nwogu, APC Chieftain, Chief Robert Nzeh, Prof. Uju Afulezi, Chairman Umuohiagu Council of Elders, Nze Christian Nwalor who represented Okenze Clifford Nwoke Obikara, PG emeritus, Pastor Edmund Aluwara among others.
