Biafra: Police Declares One Chukwudi Wanted  In Connection With IPOB, Unknown Gunmen Activities In Anambra

By  Casmir Chinedu

The Nigerian Police has reportedly invaded the sleeping Community of Agulu in Anambra state in a bid to arrest an alleged  IPOB leader, one Obi  Favour Chukwudi from the  Obi Ken Family .

Correspondent report revealed that Obi Chukwudi  is suspected to be  a member and  ring leader of the IPOB  and has equally  been connected with the Unknown Gun Men,UGM recent  activities in Anambra state.

The Police Invasion, it was gathered to  the Obi   Compound,Agulu Community  was in a bid to arrest  the suspect ,one of their sons.

A representative of Obi family in Agulu ,Mr. Obi John while speaking to newsmen has  consequently raised an  alarm over the invasion of their family compound by the Police in  August,2021 in  a  bid to arrest their son, Chukwudi who the Police said is  linked with the   activities of the Indigenous People of Biafra ,IPOB as well as those of Unknown Gun Men.

According to him, “following the invasion ,our son,Obi Favour Chukwudi ran away for safety and his Where about is not known till date”.

The family ,he lamented is very much   worried about the  safety of their son, who has not been seen since the day of the said invasion.

It will be recalled that the Anambra State Police Command in August 2021 arrested 17 persons around Ekwulobia area of  Anambra state; some youths from  Agului alleged to be IPOB members were arrested as well.

This was after the controversial  arrest of the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu in Kenya, which many international,  domestic Political and Legal professionals had described as a calculated abduction and kidnapping, even as they say it  is  ultravires  of International Law and acceptable procedures.

Though the Kenyan government has continued to deny being complicit in the manner in which the arrest of the IPOB Leader ,Mazi  Kanu was carried out by the Nigerian government.

A lot of people have  associated the Kenyan government’s denial with the perceived purported breach of International Law procedure of arresting and bringing Kanu from Kenya to Nigeria to face criminal trial.

Reacting to the arrest of the IPOB Leader, members of the IPOB in the South-East,Nigeria  have to introduce a mandatory Monday sit-at-home order as a measure to compel the Nigerian government to release the IPOB leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu,  unconditionally.

With the Monday  sit-at-home order, no markets, movements of persons and vehicles are expected to go on in the South-East, Nigeria. The South-Easterners of Nigeria, being the major operators of private business activities in the country ,the sit-at-home Orders seem to be running down the entire economy of Nigeria,  every Monday.

As a result of the foregoing, the governments of the South-East have had to change Monday school days to Saturday because of the influence of the sit-at-home Order.

This is at least in the interest of the safety of  the school children and members of the public.

Information from anonymous persons revealed that about 17 persons were arrested on Monday, August 2,2021 at Ekwulobia in Anambra State in connection with the enforcement of the sit-at-home order by IPOB .

It was  further gathered that since  the arrest of the said 17 IPOB members, all attempts to release them have not yielded any positive results.

It is also reported  that , no one or even   relation(s)  of theirs  has been permitted by the Police to see any of the 17 persons.More confusing is that their whereabouts remain unknown to members of their immediate families ,according to the source.

It was also gathered  that Obi Favour Chukwudi was at the scene at the time of the arrest but was lucky to have escaped from being arrested.

Since then, the police have been trailing him, suspecting him as one of the ring leaders of the Ekwulobia Unit of IPOB and master minder of the activities of the Unknown Gun Men in connection with the enforcement of the Monday ,August 2, 2021 sit-at-home Order that led to the arrest of  the said 17 IPOB members.

It is assumed that some of the arrested persons may have been put under fearful threat to give out names of other members, but no one was sure if Chukwudi was implicated in any statement(s).

The  Police commands  of Anambra and  Imo states had declared Chukwudi Wanted as a  ring leader and master minder of the activities of  IPOB and Unknown Gunmen in  the two states.

The Police was  yet to give out a response to this  development as  at the time of filing the  report.
