The maiden edition of inter-house sports competition of The Blueskies Foundational School located off PortHarcourt Road by IMSUBEB took place on Saturday 12th March, 2022 at IBC premises along Akanchawa Road , New Owerri.
Speaking to journalists on the occasion, the Head Teacher of the school, Mrs Roselyn Williams identified the event as grand and the best in the history of the state, adding that both learners and their parents were happy.
Mrs Williams recalled that the school was founded 10 years ago, pointing out that it has high standard of education and gives pupils all round and quality education while the learners have won many awards in the state.
The Head Teacher revealed that essence of the competition is because the inter-house sports is part of the school curriculum through which the learners are exposed to some sports, stressing that through the competition, the teachers identified and fished out talents that will represent the state and the nation in both national and international competitions.
She also disclosed that the school blends both Nigeria and overseas curriculum and is second to none, noting that the pupils Excel in their academics, morals and sports.
Mrs Williams recounted some of the sports activities that the pupils embarked upon to include cup pyramid, hurdle game, chess, Scrabble, obstacle race, meter races, relay race and jumping among others and urged the pupils to do more, keep pushing and embrace the spirit of sportsmanship where winners and losers co-operate to move the school forward.
She also enjoined parents to give proper and moral upbringing to their children and wards to make them useful in society and contribute positively to the development of their families, communities, state and the country at large.
