A chieftain of Imo State APC,Chief Mike Nwachukwu has been conferred as an honorary member of Safari Recreation Club Owerri, based on his numerous contributions to humanity.
Presenting Chief Nwachukwu before the members of the Club, president of the Safari club , Rt.Hon. Mike Iheanetu described Chief Nwachukwu as an outstanding individual who has a long lasting relationship with the club.”Chief Mike Nwachukwu has a long lasting relationship with the club since 1997.His selection as an honournary member is a special privilege.ln our option,he has excelled in his business,faired well in all his personal endeavors and shares the same mantra of the Safari club.A sound mind in a sound body.He has distinguished himself in the unhindered service to the less privileged and the society.This honour therefore,is to encourage him to do more to humanity,”he said.
According to him, it has been the manner of the club to bestow on worthy individuals awards in order to recognize and appreciate their efforts towards the development of the society at large.
The president noted that Chief Nwachukwu seems to be one of the individuals who have merited the criteria to be recognized hence the reason for the honourary membership award.
Expressing gratitude to the club for finding him worthy to be honoured, Chief Nwachukwu thanked the club for the honour that was conferred on him.
He promised that he will always identify with the club and also ensure that his support to the growth of humanity will continue unhindered.
The former Owerri Zone Senate seat contender made a donation of Five hundred thousand naira and promised to also donate a bus to the club in an appreciation for the honour .
The event took place at the Shell Camp Pavilion of the prestigious club in Owerri with members, Trustees, Patrons and past presidents and in attendance.
