It was all excitment, thanksgiving and celebration as the family of ESV. Chief sir Sam Anokam a notable humanitarian and philanthropist from Ihiagwa in Owerri west LGA celebrated in grandstyle the infant baptism/christening of their beloved grand child little Miss Adaugo Anulika Naomi Nwabunike.
The baptism took place at the Cathedral of Transfiguration CATOL Owerri followed by a grand reception to commemorate the ceremony.
The grand parents of the child ESV. Chief Sir and lady Sam Anokam in their separate speeches expressed their delight for the gift of a grand daughter as they promise to do their best in raising the child in a godly way.
Lady Dame patience Anokam the grand mother to the child as a piece of advice urged the parents of the child to love themselves and live happily so as to impact positively on the growth of the child.
They equally prayed God to bless and sustain the child as she grows into adulthood.
Speaking at the reception ceremony, the father of the child, a senior Registrar of Optometry/oncology department of Federal Medical centre Owerri, Dr Ikenna Alexander Nwabunike expressed gratitude to God for the gift of a child as he recounted God’s blessings upon their lives.
Dr Ikenna said, he will ensure a better upbringing of the child to enable her attain every height in life. He maintained that children are perfect gift from God and should be taken proper care of inorder for them to fulfill their God’s given purpose in life. He promised as a medical practitioner to ensure a good health to the child and to give her the best education she needs.
Speaking to newsmen the mother of Anulika, Dr Chioma Nwabunike thanked God for the safe delivery of the baby.she expressed joy over the growth and active performance of the child and promised to train up the child to be responsible and attain greater heights in life.
In her own speech, a family friend and one of the God parent of the child Dr Adanna Egwim said it’s a wonderful privileged to serve as a mentor as well as a second parent to the child she promised to contribute positively in her training and upbringing.
The event was filled with so much merriment and was attended by dignitaries, collegues, friends and relatives of both families.
