The Senator representing Imo East Senatorial district, Senator Ezenwa Onyewuchi has expressed dismay at the spate of violence in Owerri amid recent reports of harassment, extortion and maltreatment of the civilian populace by Security Agents. He has also noted with deep concern the sporadic shootings in some parts of Owerri.
He observed that this has further exacerbated the tension, fear and apprehension among residents.
He therefore urged Security agencies who are duty bound to maintain peace and order to adhere strictly to the rules of engagement and show due regard to the rights of citizens.
He further urges Imolites to show restraint and remain law abiding as the appropriate authorities are being engaged with a view to addressing these grave concerns and to ensure that normalcy returns to our beloved State.
