Following the conclusion of the compulsory one year mourning period for late Eze Kele Okereke(okpu3) of Okpala autonomous community in Ngor Okpala LGA, the Eze-in-council, elders and people of the community have presented an Eze- elect, Dr Alexander Anozie Okereke to the IMC chairman of the LGA, Chief Mayor Nweke.
The presentation ceremony which took place on Thursday, April 15, 2021was well attended by the people of the community.
According to a paper signed by the President- General , Mr Blessing Ibekwe on behalf of the Eze-in-council, ndi Nze and leaders of the community which was read by mr Victor Okereke, the leaders and people of all the seven villages of Okpala autonomous community were united in the choice of Dr Alexander Anozie Okereke as their new traditional ruler.
Dr Okereke was described as very qualified, having integrity and capacity to lead the community at this time.
In his speech, the chairman of Ngor Okpala LGA, Chief Mayor Nweke expressed his delight at the presentation and congratulated the Eze-elect after receiving his documents, just as the Director of Administration and Generally Services (DAGS), Mr Emeka Odua assured them that their documents would receive due attention.
In his acceptance speech, the Eze-elect, Dr Alexander Okereke expressed his gratitude to God and his people for choosing him as their new traditional ruler, promising to be traditional ruler for all. He promised that his reign would focus on peace, unity, security, education, general infrastructure.
