Alphonsus Uzodinma from Umuokoroukwu Ezuhu Ngoro, Aboh Mbaise Local Government Area of Imo State, has cried out to good-spirited individuals and organizations to come to the rescue of Mmesomachi Rosemary Uzodinma whose legs were said to have been crushed by a Pajero Sports Utility vehicle during a burial in his family compound.
Mr. Uzodinma who said he and wife were artisans, told Nigeria Newspoint that N2.1m million was needed for an artificial limb and other serious medical treatments for his daughter whom he hinted, was a JSS 2 student of Lude Secondary School, Ahiazu Mbaise, before the unfortunate accident.
Narrating how the accident happened, Mr. Uzodinma who lamented that the driver who caused the accident, drove into the compound of Mr. Anthony Chukwu at Ludeama, Ahiazu, where he and family live, was driving out after a burial in the compound at about 7pm, and that his daughter went to open the gate for him when the accident took place.
He said it was at that point when the victim and his daughter, Mmesoma, was opening the gate that Stanley Oguguo who was a relation to the deceased and was on the driving seat, allegedly drove straight tilting towards his (Uzodinma’s) house and allegedly pressed the 14 year-old girl on the wall of the building.
Uzodinma alleged that the said Stanley did not show remorse after accident. Mr. Uzodinma further hinted that his daughter lost so much blood as a result of the impact of the car which allegedly squeezed her to the wall.
He said her daughter has already lost her right leg through amputation, leaving her with only the left leg which he also said, was being treated currently.
Uzodinma said that the Investigating Police Officer (IPO) handling the matter has allegedly made no effort to effect arrest and has allegedly failed to honour a request by the traditional ruler to come to the palace.
