The Special Adviser to Imo State Governor, Sen. Hope Uzodinma on Nursing, Midwifery and Adoption Matters, Lady Anne Dozie on Thursday sent a special Easter Message to the Governor and also called for one united APC family in the entire Egbu ward in Owerri North LGA.
Addressing the All Progressives Congress,APC Stakeholders in Egbu Ward during a Breakfast meeting at her residence in Egbu in Owerri North LGA, yesterday, Thursday, April 1, Lady Dozie said, the meeting is with the aim to interface t, formally with them and tell them of her recent appointment as a Special Adviser to the Governor on Nursing/ Midwifery and Adoption m.
She called on them to pray for the Governor for deeming it worthy to create the Portfolio, which had never been in existence before now.
In her words, ” I am sure, our Governor must have created the office for a special purpose, thercale I thank him for giving me the opportunity to serve in this capacity, not because am the only woman in Owerri North, nor am better than everyone of them, but the reasons for appointing me in this capacity is best known to the Governor.
The SA to the Governor also enjoined the people to use the Easter celebration to reexamine themselves, adding that, it calls for self reawakening, in order to attract the blessings that is embedded in the virtues of our Saviour Jesus Christ on the ultimate price He paid to redeem humanity.
She urged those in the positions of authority not to use them to run others down but to utilize them by displaying the attributes of good leaders as Christ did, with humility.
She recalled some of the achievement recorded on the ongoing infrastructural projects and in other sectors if the economy by the state government to include Dick Tiger road, Chukwuma Nwaoha, Owerri Relief Market road, among others and asked the people to be patient with the state government,.
She noted that Governor Uzodinma has come to clean the mess of the past administrations, through Reconstruction, Rehabilitation to attain a total transformation which Ndi Imo will be proud .
She added that Governor Uzodinma is a blessing to the State.
” I believe and I am convinced that, if all of us could come down from our places of comfort to give the Governor our support; honestly speaking, Imo State will be among the best in the country.
She revealed that in the past 15 years, Schools of Midwifery in the state had gone moribund with lip services paid to them by past administrations, but enthused that the present government led by Governor Uzodinma has taken drastic steps to get them back on track. She noted that reorganization is starting with School of Midwifery in Aboh Mbaise and its counterpart at Awomamma, sayng that they have been working round the clock to resume their academic activities, which will soon commence .
The former commissioner for Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development in the state, also informed the people that government has concluded arrangements to improve on the primary health care services in the various localities of the state, to enable mothers access free medical care for their children from zero age to fives years of age. This ,she said was done through counterpart- funding as part of the steps to improve on the health care services of the state.
She therefore, advised members of the APC ruling party in Egbu ward and across the state not to join issues with others who go about calling the Governor names, without having the basic knowledge of how governance is done.
She urged them to be more constructive in ensuring they enlighten and educate the people on some of the policies and programmes of the incumbent administration in the state.
She enjoined those who are not yet registered as member of the party to do so as soon as possible.
She assured them of her readiness within her present capacity to move APC forward in Egbu ward, and finally called for support from all and sundry in this regard.
Lady Anne further noted that she would like to feel and observe APC as one formidable family in Egbu ward, and would to love to leave a print of good reference after her service period.
Some of the party’s stakeholders made useful contributions during the parley and promised to work and support the Governor with the SA to attracting dividends of good governance into the community.
