…As Mbonu hails Gov’s projects
Impressed by Governor Hope Uzodinma of Imo State administration’s commitment towards good, visionary and purposeful governance, High Chief Batos Nwadike has added his voice among some eminent Nigerians that are re-assuring the populace that the Shared Prosperity and 3 R mantra government means well to them.
Chief Nwadike who is Special Adviser(SA) to the Governor on Political Matters disclosed this last Tuesday at the newly renovated Okigwe Local Government Secretariat Multi- Purpose Hall during his well attended maiden official visit christened Grassroots sensitization and Prosperity Tour .
He explained that the tour is aimed at enlightening and sensitizing the people on the activities of the government as well as drumming their support and cooperation.
The SA who spoke fluently in Igbo language recalled that when himself and the Governor visited the council Secretariat early last year, the entire environment was in a deplorable condition and commended Mrs. Nkechi Mbonu for a wholistic transformation of the council area.
According to him “Lady Mbonu is a point of contact for the administration’s 3 R and Shared Prosperity mantra. Imo State is lucky to have somebody like Senator Hope Uzodimma as Governor, having the historical record of being the first ever experienced government administrator to be in power,” he noted.
He decried the level of corruption in the state civil service which he said includes payroll fraudsters while reassuring of the Governor’s willingness in recovery every bloated payments and payment to genuine workers only.
Chief Nwadike further pointed out that”Governor Uzodinma means well to Imo people. He is not a capitalist and not interested in acquiring wealth and property. He is a passionate philanthropist. He doesn’t discriminate. The Governor believes in rewarding hard work, discipline and patriotism. All he needs from the people is there prayers, support and cooperation”he insisted.
The political icon also advised the people to jettison sycophancy and blackmailers noting the administration as being geneder friendly as over 40 women are part of the political appointees.
Responding, Lady Nkechi Mbonu, the council’s Interim Management Committee (IMC), chairman expressed gratitude to the SA and his team for their wonderful messages of hope and the Governor’s mission and vision in strict adherence to good and purposeful transformations.
Mbonu also applauded Governor Uzodinma for giving the Council area fair share of his political appointees and legacy projects which she said includes establishment of School of Nursing, construction and rehabilitation of good roads and the building of an ultra modern stadium complex among others.
She reiterated that the council areas are 100% in support of the administration.
Adding his voice, Mr. Dan Ogu, the State Commissioner for Youth and Sports reassured the people that plans have been advanced to complete Okigwe asphalted internal roads within the next one month.
Ogu also lauded the Governor for being youth friendly revealing that soon over 1,000 Imo youths who have been freely trained in skills acquisitions will be empowered.
He further commended the Governor for being transparent in governance informing that more sons and daughters of the area have been penciled down for political appointments.
Speaking, Hon. Mathew Omegara described Governor Uzodinma as a man with divine mandate recalling how Uzodinma as his colleague in national assembly in 2011 philanthropically hosted him even as a comfortable rich man.
Hon. Omegara informed that the Governor has passion to selflessly work for the people while re-emphasizing that the political leaders of the council area are in one page and very much loyal to the Shared Prosperity and 3R mantra government.
Highlight of the occasion was the decoration and inauguration of 7 members of Shared Prosperity Ambassadors which include Hon. Irouno Chukwuonye, Chief Obinna Mmuoneke (Nwarupuoaku),Hon. Emeka Okoronkwo, Mrs.Angela Nlekwem,Mrs. Dina Ahamefule, Hon. Fabian Nwosu, Hon. Margaret Oforegbu with Hon. Angela Nlekwem as Chairman by the SA Political Matters .
He charged them to be meeting regularly and do the same in the 11 wards and autonomous communities of the council area.
