The member representing Mbaitoli state constituency in the Imo state House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Okey Onyekanma, at the weekend paid a condolence visit to the family of late Mrs. Fidelia Opurum at Umuchoke, Obazu, in Mbaitoli Local Government Area of Imo state.
Condoling the beraved family, Onyekanma, who was accompanied by Hon. Becon Duru, executive director of Okey Onyekanma Foundation and other legislative aides, described late Mrs. Fidelia Opurum as “a wonderful, peaceful woman who would always go for the option of peace.”
The Lawmaker urged the children of the deceased ; Oluchi, Onyinyechi, Chinonye, Amarachi and Chibueze to amplify the many good virtues of their mum: her exemplary qualities and sacrifices she made for the good of the family and the society at large.
According to Onyekanma, “the vacuum left behind by the deceased will be difficult to fill. I pray God in His infinite mercies, to grant all of us the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss, and to the faithful departed, eternal rest.”
Mrs Fidelia Opurum, who was buried on February 25, at Umuchoke, Obazu, Mbieri, Onyekanma’s maternal home, was said to have died at the age of 75 years, after a brief illness.
