Member representing Aboh/Ngor Okpala Federal Constituency, Rt Hon Bede Eke on Monday supervised distribution of educational instructional materials to Eight Secondary Schools in his constituency for the purpose of enhancing quality teaching of students.
Our correspondent gathered that each school got over two thousand (2000) text books including Basic science technology and English text books specifically for Basic 7-9 classes, over two thousand (2000) exercise books, over one thousand student’s chairs and tables, 50 administrative tables and chairs for teaching staffs and principals, 25 computer sets and colour printers, 25 file cabinets, generator set amongst others.
The Event Which took place at Nguru Umuaro Secondary School play ground had in attendance Students, Principals of the eight schools, teachers, party leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP from the federal constituency, Town Union presidents as well as community leaders.
In appreciation to the federal lawmaker, the outgoing principal of Nguru Umuaro Secondary school, Ngor Okpala LGA, Mrs Pat Emeana who spoke on behalf of the principals described Rt Hon Eke as an education interventionist whose educational policy / programmes is felt across the federal constituency. ” am not surprise that we are here today to receive educational instructional materials worth millions of naira, quality educational equipments”, she said. It our honest believe and prayer that before the expiration of his tenure, over 70% schools in the constituency will receive theirs. Mrs Pat Emeana disclosed that the school’s administrative staff block and science laboratory was renovated by the federal lawmaker adding that his support for education in the constituency is highly appreciated, while assuring the lawmaker that the educational materials shall be judiciously put into use as he prayed for good health and success of the lawmaker throughout his tenure in office.
Also, leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in their selected speeches conveyed their heartfelt appreciations to the lawmaker. According to Chief Morrison Njoku, chairman of PDP in Ngor Okpala LGA ” we are very proud of our House of Reps member. He talks less and do more, even in opposition his empowerment programmes are felt across the federal constituency “, while urging the principals to ensure the educational materials received should be utilised judiciously.
Contributing his voice, the Vice President of Nguru Umuaro Town Union, Sir Cosmos Onyewuenyi on behalf of the host community, thanked their son, Rt Hon Eke for the materials distributed to the eight schools randomly selected across the federal constituency. He further appealed to the teachers and principals to ensure the educational materials received are properly utilised by the students in order to enhance their learning.
Responding, Rt Hon Eke disclosed ” there is no political ward in Aboh Mbaise / Ngor Okpala Federal Constituency that you will not find a project attracted by me. Through my office as your federal lawmaker, we have reconstructed/ renovated over ten (10) schools, on completion, we distributed student’s chairs and desks. Today we flagged off distribution of first set of educational instructional materials to eight schools from the federal constituency, expect more”, he said. The federal lawmaker assured his constituents that more schools will be renovated in year 2021 as they are already captured in the budget. Eke said that an adhoc committee shall be set up to visit the eight schools that benefitted from the distribution of the first set of educational instructional materials on inspection so as to ensure the materials are put into use in the eight schools;

Aboh Mbaise LGA: Oke Ovoro Secondary School, Community Secondary School Lagwa Okwuato, Nguru Secondary Commercial School, Amuzu Comprehensive Secondary School.
