The traditional ruler of Umuekwune Community in Ngor -Okppala Local Government Area,His Royal Highness ,Eze George Nwosu ,Eze Oha 1 of Egbelu Umuekwune has applauded the lmo State Government over her efforts geared towards recovering, resusicitating and reinvigorating lmo Rubber Estates Limited
The Monarch who made this remark last Saturday at his palace during a courtesy visit by the management of lmo Rubber Estates Limited ably led by the Chairman of the Management Committee ,Chief Charles Udemba, appreciated the lmo State Governor,His Excellency,Senator Hope Uzodimma for his passion and zest to recover and transform the 3 Plantations in Umuekwune_Ngor_Okpala, Emeabiam_Owerri_West,and Obiti _Ohaji Egbema Local Government Areas
Which he said before now was a ghost of itself
The Retired Deputy Director ,lmo Broadcasting Corporation (IBC) thanked the APC led administration for her frantic efforts to recover the Rubber Estates from hijackers that are laying claim to ownership of the plantations
And as well put an end to ligations against the Rubber Estates Limited
The Odum Egbelu ,Eze Nwosu IV recalled with nostalgia the hustle and bustle of his community occasioned by the presence of lmo Rubber Estates as from 1962 when it was established though under the name Eastern Nigerian Development Corporation
Which he said generated revenue for his Community and the government while the youths were all gainfully employed by the establishment”l have some emotional attachment to lmo Rubber Estates,the first man who planted Rubber in Emeabiam Mr Nwoko from Umuahia lived in my father’s house which later became their first head office and my father the first Chairman,lmo Rubber Landlords Association”
He made it clear that the present administration is honest in her pursuit to revive the ailing plantations
Hence all hands must be on deck to support the governor than to sabotage his efforts he said
He enjoined the Land Lords , traditional rulers and other Stakeholders to work in tandem with the governor and the management Committee to see that lmo Rubber Estates regain her pride of lace again
Furthermore,he stated that anyone fighting against the present administration to frustrate her good plans towards transforming the Estates for the betterment of the people is the real enemy of the people
However,he seized the opportunity to beckon in the the government to reconstruct Umuokpo_Umuekwunne Road which has remained impassable for ages now
Earlier in his speech,the chairman of the lmo Rubber Estates Limited management Committee appreciated the Royal father for his support so far in other to see to the smooth running of the Plantation in his area
He informed the Monarch that the governor has the interest of lmo Rubber host communities at heart and would stop at nothing to give them a new lease of life
The chairman also reavealed that the new administration is barely a year old and has been putting things in place to see that the plantations which were dead before now due to poor
management ,and litigations over ownership of the place bounces back.
He’s also informed him that the governor is poised to end the liggering ligations against lmo Rubber Estates no matter what it will take and transform it for the good of the people”our governor is all out to see that lmo Rubber Estates Limited is recovered,it will be shameful that this monumental achievement is taken away from us
