The candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC in the December 5 Senatorial bye election, Ifeanyi Araraume has assured that his going to the Senate would benefit the Governor Hope Uzodinma, Imo and entire Okigwe zone.
He insisted that he would add fervour and bring strength to the party, adding that he is a party man that appreciates hierarchy and that within the first year, the entire Imo will appreciate his contributions towards the growth of the party in the State and the South East in general.
Sen. Araraume, who spoke at Ihite Uboma Local Government Area on the second day of his campaign continued that his contributions to the growth beginning with the first elected senator under the APC in the entire South East, adding that it was after the election of late Sen. Benjamin Uwajumogu that South East elected others.
He stressed that Governor Uzodinma has always been his friend and brother and that they had worked assiduously in the past for the good of Imo and now he (Uzodinma) is on the saddle, the synergy alongside other stakeholders will be reinvigorated.
He maintained that because of the present economic situation, he would move with speed to propel economic recovery through empowerment of the women and youth within the zone and entire state and enjoined the electorates to stand with him on December 5.
Earlier, Dr. (Mrs.) Chindinma Uwajumogu, one of cleared aspirants at the September 3 APC primary election said she stepped down for Sen. Araraume because he is the most qualified of all those jostling for the position, adding that her ambition was inferior to the good of Okigwe zone.
She pleaded with other aspirants under the APC to think more about the development of Okigwe zone by rallying around Sen. Araraume, and that she was sure that the candidates of other political parties would do the same.
Also speaking, the former Secretary to the Imo State Government and who participated in the primary, Engr. Mark Uchendu said Sen Araraume had no reason to come to Ihite Uboma to canvass for vote as his accept across the state was unanimous.
He urged Sen Araraume to do all within his powers to ensure the completion of the the NDDC road project connecting Ihite Uboma with Okigwe Local Government Area.
