The acting Chairman of People’s Democratic Party PDP, Owerri Municipal Council, Imo State, Hon. Ken Njoku, Chief Christian Oweaya Anukam and other leaders and members of the party in the council, last Sunday commiserated with the family of the deceased chairman of the party in the council late Okechukwu Opara over his demise.
Dr. Anukam,who led the delegation, while consoling the family of the deceased, described the death of late Oprah as hurtful. He told the wife of the deceased to hold on to God and assured that the Party will not abandon the family since he died on active service, adding that God will give them heart to bear the loss.
Also, Chief Oweaya hosted the delegation in his compound after the condolence visit, where hethanked the Party executives for honouring the meeting and that PDP as a Party have resolved to ensure peace and high level of cooperation among the leaders.
In his words “Today,we gathered together to address crucial matters at the LGA level, concerning New Owerri, Ward 1 , I addressed to everyone present at the LGA meeting convened by the LGA Chairman. There and then, I called aggrieved members to order and promised to take up the matters arising as a leader in New Owerri because I don’t want the Party to be in chaos especially now that we are mourning Oprah” he had said
He noted that all the LGA members were present at the meeting including zonal member, Honourable Benneth Mere, Chairman of all Chairman, Comr. Onyi Ejihe Lekwuwa, LGA Women Leader, Mrs.Anokwuru Ifeoma, Ward Chairman, Chief A.Enmeremadu, Interim Management Committee Chairman Representing New Owerri Ward 1 , Hon. Anozike, Sylvanus, Acting LGA Chairman, Hon. Ken Njoku among others.
