The apex youth group in Orlu Zone, Orluzurumee Youth Assembly, has said there are no factions whatsoever in its parent body, and declared that Chief Emeka Diwe is the President-General of Orluzurumee.
In a release signed by its publicity secretary, Chibuike Odunze, the group insisted that all those parading themselves as factional leaders of the parent body are fake and self-serving individuals who do not budge about the collective interest of Orlu people.
According to the release, “The General Assembly has also deliberated on the crisis within the parent body of Orluzurumee and resolved that there is no faction in the group. Chief Emeka Diwe is the sole, undisputed and incontestable President-General of Orluzurumee, and any other person caught impersonating him or creating the impression that there are factions in Orluzurumee will have the youths to contend with.”
The adoption of Diwe as only recognized President of the Orluzurumee parent body followed the recent successful incorporation of the youth assembly by the Corporate Affairs Commission, which has laid to rest the protracted dispute within the youth group.
The release further stated that, “In view of the successful incorporation of Orluzurumee Youth Assembly by the Corporate Affairs Commission, a Reconciliation Committee headed by Dr. Cleophas Tobenna Ogbonna has been set up to look into the crisis that once bedeviled the Assembly and to bring back every person who might have strayed for whatever reason. Dr. Augustine Izuogu has also been appointed as Secretary to the Committee.”
Recall that Orluzurumee had been mired in leadership controversies with various individuals making claims to the soul of the group. While Chief Reuben Okoro was parading various persons as presidents of Orluzurumee, Engr. Chime Nzeribe also was claiming to have been made president of the group by Rochas Okorocha, while Chief Emeka Diwe represents the popularly elected President of the body.
