Testimonies have continued pour in over the giant strides so far recorded by the Interim Management Committee Chairman of Ngor Okpala Local Government Area of Imo State, Hon. Charles Abara.
Investigations reveal that Hon. Abara is the first to pay claims and allowances to workers in the last eight years including the Rebuild administration. In addition to this, Hon. Abara has ensured prompt payment of salaries and allowances amid other financial assistance to the sick and bereaved staff of the council.
The Ngor Okpala Interim Management Committee chairman also embarked on operation light up and rehabilitation of 28 health centres in the area with over twenty brand new generators donated already.
Other notable achievements of Hon. Abara include provision of boreholes in six INEC wards of the council, restoration of water supply to the council via a newly drilled borehole, employment of 15 security personnel and training of 110 youths in different skills like Information of Communication Technology and packaging.
He has so far made financial assistance to security agencies, in the LGA refurbished vehicle of the Divisional Police Office at Umuneke as well as donation of a new generator.
Meanwhile the construction of a mini-stadium at the council is on-going even as the council boss he has ensured that the monthly meeting of stakeholders in the LGA as directed by the governor.
Hon. Abara has further actualized the renovation and reconstruction of dilapidated offices at the council secretariat including restoration of the monthly meeting of traditional rulers of the council with a generating set to power their secretariat.
It is the vision of the Ngor Okpala IMC chairman to increase the number of beneficiaries being empowered through ICT and other skills to 500 in line with the vision of Governor Emeka Ihedioha’s Rebuild agenda.
