The National leadership of the Action Alliance (AA), has welcomed in good fate, the eventual disqualification of Uche Nwosu, as the flag-bearer of the party in the March 9, 2019, governorship election in Imo State.
In a release signed by the National Chairman of AA, Kenneth Udeze and National Secretary, dated August 22, 2019,addressed to Barr. Ikenga Imo Ugochinyere, the National Chairman of Action Peoples Party (APP), who obtained the court judgment disqualifying Uche Nwosu, as candidate, the AA leaders stated that they were conveying their unalloyed acceptance of the judgment with great pleasure, fulfillment and satisfaction.
While assuring that AA has taken steps to give effect to and comply with the extant orders of the court, they recalled how the AA had earlier frowned at various anti-party postures of the said Uche Nwosu and plot by his father-inlaw, Rochas Okorocha, to impose him on the people of Imo State, as well as their unilateral commencement of an election petition in the name of the party without authorization or even the courtesy of consultation, for which AA took legal steps to discontinue and withdraw from the purported petition under it’s name and against the duly elected Governor of Imo State, Rt. Hon. Emeka Ihedioha.
AA finally commended APP by placing on record, it’s appreciation of it’s commitment to constitutionalism and rule of law, promising to continue ally with APP in all of it’s struggles, to defend democracy at all cost and in all circumstances.
The Abuja High Court judgment has finally put a nail on the coffin of Uche Nwosu’s dream of becoming governor if Imo State, a venture that was roundly criticized.
