The Onuimo Local Government Campaign Council of Sen. Ifeanyi Godwin Araraume, candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, for the March 2 governorship poll in Imo State has been inaugurated with a vow that the sufferings and gnashing of teeth by the people was nearing its end.
Speaking through the council campaign chairman Barrister Major Emenike, Sen. Araraume said he was in the race not to be among the pack, but to make the difference through pragmatic approach to governance that will make the state a force to be reckoned with in all facets.
He explained that he was not a new comer to the politics of the state, but that having traversed through the nooks and crannies of Imo State, he was abreast with the yearnings and aspirations of the people.
The APGA candidate assured the teeming population of Onuimo that his administration would “make the plaster as big as the sore”, saying that each local government would be dealt with in accordance with their needs and not lumped together.
He charged the team to be alive to their responsibilities, saying that the inauguration would also permeated to the ward and booth levels as nobody would be left out before, during and after the elections.
The two time senator for Okigwe zone said he remains the best bet for the embattled people of Imo and urged them to arise in unison to take their destinies in their hands to vote out the totalitarian and despotic government that had traumatized them these past eight years.
He maintained the importance of everyone been committed to the process of removing the malfeasance that had hung to the state like a malignant tumour, because it has to be a collective action to take it from the root and cut it out.
Sen. Araraume urged the people to preach and convert new disciples as APGA is a bandwagon party that has room for all and sundry and that they must also do everything to protect their votes in all the elections.
Highlights of the inauguration included formal declaration by the council, singing of the APGA anthem and sensitization of the electorates within the area.
Those present at the event included the Chairman of the campaign council, Chief (Barrister)Major Emenike, the House of Assembly candidate Onuimo State Constituency, Hon. Paul Emeziem, representative of the National Assembly candidates and other top leaders of both the APGA and the Team Recovery.
