…Expresses optimism that APC will win 2019 presidency, governorship
The Deputy Governor of Imo State, Prince Eze Madumere, has assured the people of Imo State that 2019 will mark the end to oppression in the state, calling on them to vote out all anti-people elements.
The Deputy Governor’s statement was contained in a press release signed by his Special Assistant on Media, Uche Onwuchekwa.
According to Madumere, he called on the people to rejoice for being alive to tell their own stories and make their plans and projects, describing it as an opportunity to write the wrongs by working hard to succeed in the Warsaw where they failed in the past year.
His words; “My message is that it shall be well with you this year. Where you did not succeed in 2018, you will succeed in 2019. Our prayers have reached the Almighty Father in heaven. What is important is learning from your mistakes and working hard to write the wrongs.”
While decrying the tortuous the people of Imo State had to go through in 2018, he was quick to attribute it to bad leadership, urging them to join forces to ensure that such elements are booted out of power. “In all honesty, it has been a tortuous and thorny path journeying through 2018. It got to a time, the only certainty in our polity was uncertainty because uncertainty was pervasive in our God given State.
“Such dicey situation never was foisted on us by the heavens nor by God himself but by human elements who have turned themselves into anti human agents. Thanks be to God that we know who our oppressors are and it is being addressed. I assure you, with God Imo we shall prevail;” he said.
On behalf of my family, it is with gladness of heart I welcome us to a brand New Year, 2019. I am glad I made it and I am also glad you made it. I say so because those our cherished loved ones who had departed to the great beyond were also as optimistic as we are as many of them, also had better and bigger future plans. Still, amid all these we are the ones telling stories of yester-years and making future projections. Ain’t we lucky?

Admonishing the people, he said; “It is not about asking the people to be patient but the mockery from the oppressors. The furious anger should be directed at those who constitute the problem! Those who pillaged our commonwealth and appropriated them to their personal purse. Never mind, it is a leadership issue that will soon be solved by you and me. The truth is that there is and there must be something we must do individually and collectively to salvage the situation.”
Speaking further, Prince Madumere urged Imolites to eschew rancour, vendatta, sentiments but to anchor their support for a candidate on issues, interest and general development need of the people to avoid regrets. He also called on the youths to engage in positive activities, appealing to the to shun thuggery but ensure that electoral criminals do not have their way.
He commended All Progressives Congress for standing up to confront bad governance in the state not minding the party affiliation, describing such as the highest level of patriotism. He also expressed optimism that APC will win the state and the presidency attributing it to feats, sanity and economic gains so far achieved in President Mohammadu Buhari administration.
