The Imo political calculus has gone beyond, I am from Okigwe, Orlu and Owerri zones. Chief Evan Enwerem, His Excellency, Ogbuhuruzo of Ikeduru, Mature of the blessed memory, may his soul rest in the bosom of the good Lord. Senator Araraume travelled all the way from Benin City in those good old political days to Imo State to ensure that Chief Evan Enwerem was elected Governor of Imo State. Whether he was there for one day or two days, there was good understanding then. Can anybody disprove the above assertion?
His Excellency, Chief Dr. Achike Udenwa (Onwa) was elected Governor of Imo State for 8 years. Senator Araraume gave his wonderful support for the realization of this Orlu illustrious citizen’sguber ambition.Chief Dr. Achike Udenwa (Onwa) was one of the finest and prudent financial Chief Executive Servants of Imo State. Can anybody disprove this? Araraume was for Orlu Zone. Owelle Rochas Okorocha (OON), His Excellency, the illustrious son of Orlu, Imo, Nigeria and Africa, was elected Governor of Imo State in 2011. He is finishing his 8 year tenure by May 29, 2019. Senator Araraume’s support was sought for and it was given to the fullest. His Excellency, Chief Dr. Ikedi Ohakim (Ochinanwata) Governed Imo State from 2007 to 2011. That was four years. Chief Evan Enwerem’s Governorship was interrupted no thanks to the military intervention then. Of all the zones mentioned, the only zone that have not properly organized themselves is Owerri zone. That is a topic for another day.
My Essay is all about one man, who has demonstrated love, understanding, patience in followership, tolerance in spite of blasphemy, irresponsible and baseless and fake rumours but still standing today to prove a point. That man is from Imo-Zone. That man is the most distinguished Senator Araraume. He is one man whose language is not Okigwe, Orlu, Owerri but NDI IMO. He has paid his dues to all the zones. He gave Orlu zone support for 16 good years. He lent his support for Owerri for the then governor to complete his tenure. His PDP Guber ticket for 2007 Imo Governorship was stolen by WADATA PLAZZA. How Time flies.
He ensured that Imo and Abia States were included in the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC). He ensured that a Power Transmission Station was sited at Ohaji/Egbema. Senator Araraume does not stop any zone from exercising their political right of choosing the direction to go. But Imo electorates will look at the candidates and ask questions. These questions may come up: What does that candidate do to earn a living. Is it politics? When there is no politics, where does that candidate fall back to? What and what has a candidate done to uplift the standard of living of Imolites? What are his or her past records? How is he or she being rated in his community? How has he managed his or her business and family? What are his educational qualifications and background? What has been his or her tolerance and endurance levels in the face of extreme provocations and blackmails? A lot of questions,demanding a lot of answers,
Senator Araraume has been subjected to so many blackmails and rumours. He has forgiven all, and has tolerated them as part of what a leader must undergo. Christ Jesus was blackmailed and crucified inspite of all His good works and benevolences. Late Abraham Lincoln, the former American President was humiliated six times before he won the Presidency of America. Our Amiable President Muhammadu Buhari, was not given the chance to Govern this Country, not until four good times. The same is a sure likely scenario for Mr. clean and he is fully prepared and working towards it. This organized, prudent, distinguished statesman,the Agu Isiebu and the Hero of Imo democracy, the game changer, is Senator Araraume, the most distinguished.
THE MAN FROM IMO ZONE. Senator Araraume is not clannish. He has shown capacity for Orlu, Owerri and Okigwe zones.
THE CHOICE OF STEVE NWOGA AS Senator Araraume’s Running Mate. When the news of Steve Nwoga came up, Araraume-watchers jumped for joy and shouted:“THE GAME ISOVER”. Senator Araraume goes to Mbaise Nation to pay great respect to Nwoga political dynasty for their enormous contributions for the political stability of Imo State. In the academic, leadership, administrative and entrepreneurship world, Nwoga’s name rings bell. NNAYI NWOGA is a good man from Mbaise, the good people, the great and the resourceful nation. In Imo politics, the swing L.G.As which seasoned politicians cannot ignore are: the Mbaitoli, Ngor-Okpala, Mbaise Nation, Isi-ala Mbano, Ohaji-Egbema, Ideato Nation, Owerri North and a host of others.
The Choice of Steve Nwoga was like what Late Muhammadu Ali’s left job did, for a knock off punch, in the political boxing calculus of Imo State. “The Owerri zone background of Nwoga and his strong APGA foundation were some of the points Araraume put into consideration for the choice of the Ahiazu Mbaise born politician. To balance zoning arrangement in the politics of Imo State, Araraume who is from Okigwe zone had to go far Owerri zone person. Ahiazu Mbaise is part of Owerri zone. The desire of Araraume to carry along APGA political structures for the governorship contest informed the decision to go for the fair skinned politician, who serves as the Deputy National organizing Secretary of the party. Nwoga has remained a member of the party from inception. His APGA origin placed him ahead of others in the choice for the position. The choice of Nwoga was his ability not to join forces with other aspirants who lost the party’s ticket and fought Araraume. Nwoga operated like a loyal party man who believes in the supremacy of the APGA values (Trumpeta Nov. 1, 2018), Page 2.
THE DAYS OF THE ANYTHING GOES FOR IMO GOVERNANCE ARE GONE. Araraume’s deputy Governor Steve Nwoga or Stephen Ibe Nwoga was born in 1971 to the family of Prof. Donatus and Ezinwanyi, an Alumni of the University of Nigeria Nsukka, Nigeria, Nigerian law school, University Lagos, Lagos Business School, Founder and managing partner of S.I Nwogaand Associates. A Director in Parkway Microfinance Bank Limited etc. You can see in a glance, where Araraume is coming from and racing to. Owerri zone is being prepared ahead for leadership.
ZONE OR NO ZONE POWER IS TAKEN NOT GIVEN. Any zone that expects to be handed the governorship of Imo State by sentiment should be in a dream land. To grab power, a zone must be prepared from the word go. No zone gives power to anybody. Senator Araraume has demonstrated capacity to take power by following the Rules. When he applies the rules, they call it Money Power. Then they go for GANG-UPs. If OZOPOLF could fizzle out and join Okorocha’s Rescue Mission in 2011 and about 40 Owerri Governorship aspirants could not resolve on one aspirant,ladies and gentlemen that was the height of all disappointments and visionlessness! I think it is high time we stop deceiving ourselves. Owerri zone should sit down and go back to the drawing board. If PDP under RT. Emeka Ihedioha has the capacity to defeat Senator Araraume of APGA, fin and good. We shall clap. If Ugwumba Uche Nwosu has the capacity to defeat Senator Araraume with the trailer load of cash from his father in-law His Excellency Owelle Rochas Okorocha, fine and good. But Senator Araraume’s Bullion-Van terrific! If Senator Hope of APC or any other candidate can defeat Senator Araraume of APGA, fine and good. Senator Araraume does not stop any candidate from going to Douglas House. By Imo- Zonism, I do mean the candidates that love Imo above their clans, L.G.As, families, in-laws, cronies, not grabbing people’s lands, starving pensioners, punishing Imo workers etc.THE DIE IS CAST! BUT GOD GIVES POWER. This is what Araraume believes in.
