Ezi Orsu Communication in Oguta Local Government Area of Imo State, has raised alarm over the alleged sale of three transformers belonging to the community by the Traditional Ruler of the area, His Royal Highness, Eze V.N Ijeoma
Nigeria Newspoint investigation reveals that the alleged sale of three electricity transformers by Eze Ijeoma,has thrown the entire community into perpetual darkness as a result of power outage in the area.
Fiurther investigation also revealed that the alleged three transformers were sold for #125,000,
#125,000.00 and #250,000.00 respectively, While the embattled Eze Ijeoma alsoallegedly issued a hand written receipt signed by the traditional ruler Eze Ijeoma, the alleged purchaser, one Mr, Kemtus Iheanacho and one other person .
However, there is suspicion by somecommunity people who preferred anonymity, that the transformers could have allegedly been sold for around #2 million prompting outrage on the part of indigenes of the community who are demanding return of the said transformers .
The people are also demanding full scale investigation into the alleged sale of thr three electricity transformers, an action they have blamed for alleged lack of electricity in the community for a long time now.
They called on the sate Governor to wade into the matter especially, as they believe that the alleged sale of their transformers was responsible for lack of electricity supply to the community .
Efforts to reach the alleged purchaser of the transformers, Mr. Iheanacho did not yield result as his phone line did not go through before filing of this report.
