The National chairman of Action Alliance AA, Barr. Kenneth Udeze weekend in Owerri the Imo State capital said there is no controversy in AA and that the only recognized governorship candidate of the party known to the law is Ugwumba Uche Nwosu.
Barr. Udeze, while briefing journalists on the readiness of the party for the general election said he cannot denied that one Leonard Uzoma Okolienta recently made attempt at fueling crisis within the party with his claim of being the guber flag bearer, saying such claims has no justification.
He maintained that Sir Okolienta’s claim is not known to the law and as such, he cannot be their governorship candidate. According to him “Okolienta did not apply officially, he never filled the intent forms and cannot come now to lay claims on the party’s governorship ticket”.
The Action Alliance National chairman went further to describe the purported claims by Sir Okolienta as meddlesome, adding that he is an interloper who may have been commissioned to drag the party down. He noted that the party has survived over 20 years without going into the general election with a complete structure and cannot afford to be distracted now that victory is staring them at the face.
He described the entrant of Ugwumba Uche Nwosu as the best thing that has ever happened to the party adding that it is time to reap the fruits of the patience.
Reacting on the defection of 19 members of Imo State House of Assembly into AA, he said the action is honourably as well as unprecedented stressing that it is a sign of a great thing to come. “AA already has structured down to-ward levels in Imo with the defection of the honourably members. All of them are automatic candidates of the party and will surely win their elections come 2019”. Barr. Udeze explained.
In his contribution the state chairman, Hon. Uchendu Anthony Ahaneku described the party as the pride of Imolites saying God has positioned the party and its executives for a greater good which he noted will manifest in 2019. He thanked the national chairman for the visit and promised that the party will do all it take to battle it out with others during the election even as he boasted that victory will surely be theirs.
