In a bid to ensure that power returns to Peoples Democratic Party in Imo state come 2019, a known support group in the party, PDP Patriots has inaugurated its state and local government chapters with standing instruction to embark on massive door to door campaign.
Inaugurating the state executive officers, local government coordinators at PDP state Secretariat, Owerri, Director General PDP Support Groups in the state, Chief Hon. OgueriEnwerem who was also the chairman of the occasion expressed happiness of the birth of PDP Patriots in the state describing it as the first of its kind.
Chief Enwerem described PDP Patriots as a support group made up of credible and committed people that will not only add value to the party but also work assiduously to ensure that the party defeats the ruling party both in the state and at the federal level in the upcoming general elections.
Enwerem therefore urged members of the support group to live up to their biddings by embarking in aggressive door to door campaign disclosing that the objective of the party in the state is to win all the elective positions starting from the House of Assembly, Governorship, House of Representatives, Senatorial to presidential.
He added that the party would not fail appreciate the group’s work at the appropriate time.
Also speaking, the Southeast Zonal Coordinator, PDP Patriots, Apostle Onyekachi Samuel stated that PDP Patriots is an affiliate of PDP and called on the newly inaugurated state and local government excos to always respect and work hand in glove with the party officers.
In his acceptance speech, the state Coordinator, PDP Patriots, Sir Hon. Marcel Okoro expressed optimism that the calibre people in his cabinet would deliver.
In his words,’ After this inauguration today, we are all going into the field to do the needful; sensitise and mobilise Imo state for PDP. We promise we will not let PDP down. However, we should not fail to remind the party and the PDP flag bearers to the various electoral positions in the state the maxim, ” from whom much is expected much is given”
