Orluzurumee Youth Assembly, OYA, in Owerri, yesterday November 26, debunked allegations making rounds that the former National President of the organization, Comrade Precious Nwadike who is the rallying point of Orlu youths is fueling crisis in the organization.
In a release issued in Owerri and signed by the National Secretary, Comrade EbereOkeke, the Union said, “that her attention has been drawn to a baseless and embarrassing publication” on the social media accusing their former National President who is currently a UPP Senate candidate for Orlu Zone, of collecting the sum ofN800,000 from Sir OkeyEze, the SDP governorship candidate to unseat Comrade Darlington Uzoahia and install one Opuruozo Collins, as the new National President of Orluzurumee Youth Assembly.
The organization stated that it would have ignored the publication in view of the characters and antecedents of those peddling the unfounded and baseless rumours but for the fact that they were directed or targeted at tarnishing the image, reputation and personality of somebody Orlu youths rely and depend on as worthy of emulation. “Our Board of Trustees Chairman, Comrade Nwadike Precious cannot compromise or descend so low to seek gratification from anybody to destroy an organization he helped to build”, they averred.
The Secretary of the Assembly re-iterated that OYA remains a formidable, non-political group and no amount of horse trading will derail it from pursuing its lofty aims, objectives and commitment to play its role in the forthcoming election to ensure that only credible people get into elective political offices and positions of authority.
The group described Comrade Nwadike as a renowned human rights activist and journalist whose image and rising profile as UPP candidate for Orlu senatorial zone, has confounded mischief makers and urged the public to ignore those false tales.
While appreciating Comrade Nwadike for the mature manner he handles the issues, for which they are indebted to him, they also regretted any inconveniences or embarrassment the publication on the gratification may have caused the person of Sir OkeyEze the youth friendly gentleman, and frontline governorship candidate in Imo SDP.
